Before the "influences" ruled thought (critical thinking) pretty much everyone on an airgun forum recommended new people start with something simple with good support, OR get hands on experience 1st then decide. Then again anything that leaked (or ...) within several years was considered crap.

No other quip raises my hackles quite as much as, "Buy once, cry once".

I just counted 9 instances of a n00b buying an M4 as a first air gun and they are completely lost in the tune and setup.

Buying a complex, precision piece of equipment and immediately attempting to modify it is not a good idea. Especially if you don’t understand how it works.

If I want a super accurate gun, are you suggesting I buy a $400 gun and tinker with it until I get the gun I actually want… the FX Impact? If so that doesn’t make any sense to me.
