Buy once, cry once.

Feinwerkbau 900
Anschutz 9015
Walther LG400
Thomas Benchrest
Thomas Field Target

The only PCP rifles known that out of the box will win a world championship until you pick it up.

These are the best Precision Target rifles made, each has a simple, best designed, best crafted powerplant, best trigger systems, with the most accurate barrels available, and each will last you a life time.

Buy one of these and you won't have to cry at all.
Agree (but would add something custom from Martin) is fairly complete "buy once" list.
Before the "influences" ruled thought (critical thinking) pretty much everyone on an airgun forum recommended new people start with something simple with good support, OR get hands on experience 1st then decide. Then again anything that leaked (or ...) within several years was considered crap.

Yup! The Impact sucks. Weird... I don't see any of those other 'high end' guns listed....

Let the excuses start...NOW!

Damn, I forgot Mr. Martin and I own one of his guns, a HM1000X MPA Matrix Pro.

I apologize!

He most definitely belongs on the list!

No other quip raises my hackles quite as much as, "Buy once, cry once".

I just counted 9 instances of a n00b buying an M4 as a first air gun and they are completely lost in the tune and setup.

What good does it do to push n00bs to high end guns?

I believe “buy once, cry once” is sound advice.

Buying a complex, precision piece of equipment and immediately attempting to modify it is not a good idea. Especially if you don’t understand how it works.

If I want a super accurate gun, are you suggesting I buy a $400 gun and tinker with it until I get the gun I actually want… the FX Impact? If so that doesn’t make any sense to me.

Did I make that suggestion? Or did I ask the question?

I go back to the OP, it's a discussion, not a gasslighting episode, just opinions without drama.

I'm starting to find it funny how many noobs start with the M4 and are clueless on how it works . Then their upset because they have no patience to actually learn something. They want it NOW . And they all claim its the best . I guess that's from videos and not actual research. Some want to go straight to highest power possible and have a pile of parts and thousands of slugs but sill clueless about tuning a stock m4 . Then some blame the impact and complain about factory defects and return the airgun because again they are clueless . When a simpler , better built airgun gets suggested they get defensive of their " best pcp " that shoots like crap because it's not tuned properly. I guess slow first shots and poi shifts are selling points these days and if it's more expensive it must be better . Lol

I often wonder what happens to all the "dropout" guns and compressors ? Try to sell it for what they paid ? ,and end up sitting in a store room ?

They wander over to eBay. You want some off this planet pricing by clueless people just search fx airgun on there. Lol. I mean goldwing’s (or whatever) fx crown looks like a bargain on there. 😂😂😂😂

After all the guns I have owned, I'm gonna say the Uragan 2 700mm is the buy once, cry once rifle. There is absolutely no tuning needed out of the box, the gun come shooting 25gr slugs anywhere between 930fps and 970fps and it shoots then superbly accurate.

I've owned many FX's impact and as great as they are to own and shoot. You need to out in the work, and especially the MONEY. For half of what it costs me to build an M3/M4 you get an Uragan 2 and you won't look back.
