Has any one installed a 720 plenum kit upgrade to there FX1 and had a problem with C1 length not measuring properly . Appreciate any input first time poster!

Sorry Rob I have a gunshop ! I got busy. Yes I did its visible in the power block valve hole in the rear, Now that I have someone interested with knowledge on these particular rifles let me bring you up to speed I purchased the upgrade from huma air. they sent me to kits to try. No luck on either. the upgrade gun parts were all butted up against each other snug also. so no extra room there either. So I put my attention to the C1 they also sent me another C1 to try, No luck the threads on the upgrade valve are entirely different not in pitch just in length and tip in front of the threads. So I ran a tap down the inside of the C1 to see if there was any obstructions none. let me explain Rob I am not schooled in PCP rifles at all trying to learn from people like you that have knowledge in this field. So if anyone has experienced this i would like to hear it, I was told about this forum from some one over at pyramid air after i called to see if this kit is will work on my old FX for sure. So I figured I would give it a try, As you can see by my pecking on this laptop, I am not very good on these

Thx for the vid ! silver Ernest is how i learned about the 720 upgrade to begin with. My problem is my valve rod is seated it can go back no further so its not going getting any shorter by the valve rod. I take it yours was not going back in the valve body where it belongs. when you had issues. Mine does not have that issue its back all the way and visible. I got a lot of views on this site, Every one most be as puzzled as i am this just makes no sense my old one mesures fine, but all the new components were to long to be precise they were in the 9mms not the 6-6.5mm where it should measure. What a NIGHTMARE!!!!

Wow, yours is a lot worse than mine was. Mine was between 6.8 and 7. The c1 is the biggest thing I hate about the impact.

I don't really know what to suggest. I have fitted probably half a dozen of these kits, and never had an issue. the only variable is where you screw the valve tube plenum end in, but that would make the valve rod short if it wasn't screwed in far enough. I've had a couple of C1s that I have had to screw backwards until the thread dropped in, but no Issues. I keep a couple of C1s as spares, but haven't ever used them.. The only other thing would be your valve house not being seated, but I can't imagine for a second that is the case. I'm stumped, sorry.

So you have did a few older FX s like mine and been successful, I am hearing which tells me it did work, That Rob! says to me get another 720 kit from some one closer so shipping it back is not as costly and a pain in the you no what if it does not work. Huma Air was the only ones that had it in stock for the longest time but there over in the Netherlands. I will tell you this i worked with a Marc over there and I don't have one complaint about this representative other then him being way across the pond. no (phone calls) & 6hours time difference so time for one text a day! Do you have someone your pleased purchasing from in the U.S like i told you I am new to PCP world but not firearms. Thx for your input Rob & Silver

Thx Revoman I enjoyed the vid anytime a craftsman is at work even in a different language . Just a word of caution because you was good enough to send it to me. Did you notice he seated the valve rod in the valve body and then started turning on the valve guide if you look the old vale guide hole is centered but the new 720 plenum valve guide is off set, so when you start threading the vale guide on think about the twisting and turning that precision valve rod is doing to that rod and those two seals because remember its seated so there is no movement at that rear end before it is completely flush like needed. Pull the valve forward out of its seat then start threading on your valve guide. also there 720 valve guide did not fit my same gun he had on that vid! it was way to tight it had to be turned down to fit my frame properly. I told you guys its been a NIGHTMARE! But have learned a lot about FX Impacts

Just a question:
The two valve rods (old vs new) visually look the same, OAL the same, but the puppet position different.
Are you sure by coincidence you didn't mixed them up when installed?
This how suppose to look when installed properly.
The puppet will wear eventually after some couple 10K shots, when you see the rod is flash with the block, time to replace.

That video is for an M2 Impact, not an M1 or M3, but has the same flavor for assembly.

BigHun Thx for chiming in. Those my friend are really good questions, You even made me stop and think for a second! I never heard it called a puppet also I was not aware of the flush issue in the back! thx for that info. And to answer your ? I never took my old assembly apart just removed it where the valve guide slides into the gun frame just like the two new 720 after they were put together. And no disrespect meant, The ends of the (old vs new) where the C1 adapts is night and day ! threads are much longer and the tips (old vs new are completely different lengths yes my friend the valve rods are the same in length but even if i had separated my old plenum there is number of cosmetic difference so not to mix them up! Thx so much people i really feel like you all want to help me resolve this issue, Sincerely gunsmith Dave

Sorry folks: My center fire clients were in need of assistance. They keep me pretty busy! back to the air rifles. I did not know it was called a poppet either! you learn something everyday. Even though i am master certified in all fasciitis of centerfire firearms' and have very successful gun business. I learn something new every day it seems like. Have you called Utah Air and asked if there are different length rods for the M1, 2, 3 and now 4?
Perhaps the vendor that you purchased from shipped a different iteration that the one needed?

Please show a pic(pics) of the c1 being measured off of the front of the block, showing the dimension, and a pic of the end of valve rod fully pushed in at the mag slot.
There is a video put out by Newman Buck on the required measurement of the C1 to the front of block, and he said the earlier mk1, MK2 impacts did better on X.XXmm while the M3’s performed best on X.XXmm’s instead. He made the video for his web business capefearairguns or 910airguns.com
