Calling for a Pity Party...

I'm calling a Pity Party for the shooters who live in snow-country and don't have access to an indoor shooting range.

Was talking to a friend recently and he was whining about all the snow we've been getting. Recognizing that he was suffering shooting withdrawal symptoms I invited him over for a 10 meter session... he's much better now 😁

This year I've tried to keep the bench clear of snow without much success. It was clean yesterday, this is now and we are due another foot of the fluffy-white before it's done.

As encouragement, I'd point out that the outdoor shooting season is only about 6 weeks... (42 days... 1008 hours... 60,480 minutes ) away... sorry 😞 , just trying to help.

So I'd like to ask that the shooters in warmer climates show a bit of consideration (pity?) and shoot a couple of groups for us. Thank you!

To the snow-bound guys with any sort of indoor range, reach out to your shooting buddies and invite them over. 😀

Have a great day... it's ass-deep out there, I'm going out to clear some snow 😁

Cheers!

⛄❄️ Winter Blues - totally agree on the indoor shooting to avoid frostbite lol.

Definitely been a colder winter in these parts- not a lot of snow, this week was the exception- got about 7” of snow over last few days, finally seeing snowmobiles again going past the house.

I’ll shoot outside but when its to cold, and you have to dress like your on an expedition to Antarctica, then I’ll shoot inside the basement range.

Tomorrows feel like temperature is -11 , yeah that’s an inside shooting day, my son said he was coming over to shoot some of those cool recoiless 10m guns after work 😎🇺🇸.

Finely snowed .Stocking up on cotton tails . Still go to garage and shoot out to 100 yds but never developed a taste for targets ! :p
Nice when the weather works with us for a change. Cotton tails on snow are as easy as white snowshoe rabbits before the snow - the cotton tails are better eating though, even if they are smaller.

We've not really gotten a lot of snow but the temperatures out here have been very low. Just to cold to shoot in the back yard for now.
It is definitely one of those times that I wish I had an indoor range. It would also be a great excuse to by some more air guns since I would need some lower powered stuff for the indoor shooting.

Snowing was late over a month at my place in Ontario L4G7X4, just a very shy volumes over weeks.
Started more whites 3 days ago about 25cm, and yesterday 25 cm, and today morning about 25 cm again, I have a 6 car driveway, my two boys were shoveling for over an hour. After some 3-4 hours I look through the windows, the time is up again.
Not bad for now now, I can still see the neighbors cars on their driveways :)
minus 8 C and 93% humidity.
I am calm, I know no outdoors shooting usually till end of March.

Old dad never shoot one before snow . Said they were still fornicating without . Dressed one out two days ago [ 1 inch snow ] had little bunnies [ size of sparrow eggs ] It has been mild this winter . I am less than 200 miles from Canada Ah !

Our winters in Missouri are usually fairly mild. This winter is kicking butt with extreme cold and snow and ice. I still open the door and let a few fly once or twice a day. Mark

I feel ya brother, I actually had some frost on my windshield this week. Horrible winter weather this year.

The only pity party needed is for my wallet. It’s expensive to basement shoot right. The IZH 46M is an impulse purchase I don’t really need, It’s currently being shipped my way. It was one of the last imported and is supposedly unfired. He had me at new Rink grips.

Nice collection!

The IZH is a great pistol to shoot, had one for a short time until I traded it (plus some $$) for a FWB 100. Have the FWB 300S, 603 and a P8x as my 10 meter air-sonal. Yeah, expensive to buy but a huge pleasure to shoot.

Cheers!

You just need to enclose your shooting bench. Maybe include a woodstove, firepit or propane heater. I've actually got an 8'x8' portable shack that I can set up in about an hour. It makes camping in the winter bearable.

That's one hell of a nice range by the way.

Yup, or use an Eskimo Ice fishing shelter?

Thought about closing in the shooting bench, just might do it.

Thanks about the range - it looks nicer without all the snow 😉

The right (main) lane is 55 yards, the left (presently invisible) lane is 128 yards, bench to backstop.

Cheers!
