I hunt crows and have the fortune of living near some fine call makers. I had some calls made from a post oak limb I saved and a camellia bush I cut down. Daryl Gosey made these for me.

Well Rutherford county made a good showing at the NWTF National call makers competition yesterday in Nashville Tennessee. Out of the top 6 crow calls 5 was from Rutherford county
Chad Scruggs 1st and 2nd
I got 3rd and 6th
Brian Lawter got 5th
A guy from Texas got 4th.
There were 16 calls total entries
In the deer call class my deer call placed 1st. I only sent 1 deer call Brian Lawter got 2nd & 3rd

Those are some seriously nice products. I am blown away (pun intended) by the guys who make real stuff with their hands. Those are heirloom level tools.

They are beautiful. The small groves are “burned in” with bread ties. The two small rings are to honor Darrell Gibson, his instructor and the three small groves represent he was his instructors third student.

Those are very nice looking. I bought a couple of crow calls made by a fella from Milledgeville Georgia quite a few years ago and they work wonderful. I enjoy shooting crows as well. People cringe when I mention it. But.....crows are actually good to eat.

The two I know don’t as far as I know. Let me make sure with Daryl Gosey and I can post a picture of his business card or send you a pm. I just call him on his mobile and talk. Old fashion way.

It’s topics like these that I make a vote that AGN place a sub forum within the hunting section to cover calls, knives, hunting set ups, and hunting gear. This would greatly take care of the stuff we used to chat about in the off topic section(like the big thread on knives, if you all remember).

Exactly... There is a lot of talent here with knifemaking, woodworking and such and a subforum like that would be a welcomed addition. I've mentioned it a few times to no avail.
