Dosnt the mod come off, or insides come out of it ? I spent 15 min just to get line through once. I have a alunimun cleaning rod but read that's not good to use . What's other options ? Ps: That one time I got it patch was pretty dirty.
Use a drinking straw at moderator to get into barrel. Do not remove anything you don't have to. Never know you might change your accuracy. I love the Napier cleaning kit. Shoot the cleaning solution through the straw into barrel wait one minute then push pull through cable down barrel apply cleaning patches per barrel size and pull it through squeeky clean. Music to your ears.
I use a straw as suggested above. Find one that is just small enough to fit into the moderator, then use something like a "Crown Saver" pull-through*. Open the breech, put the straw into the moderator, then thread the crown saver into the muzzle to the breech. The crown saver is used to pull patches from the breech to the muzzle (wet or dry patches - you'll have to experiment).
*You can also make a pull through from weed whacker line. Crown saver available from Mac1 in different lengths:
Michael posted using a shop vac to pull a string thru from the breach to the muzzle where a straw is inserted to the moderator so the strong clears the internal baffles. I do this using a heavy string/twine with knots opposed to patches as ithey create too much of a knot and won't pull thru. I have a long leader of un-knotted string long enough to go from the breach and out past the muzzle/straw. The rest of the string has 7 or so knots in it that fit snuggly into the barrel. The first 4 knots I stray with balistol and the last 3 are dry to act as dry patches. One pass is all that I need to do.
