Can you fill past 500cc

I just bought a compressor on sale and didn't really look at it much but it says on it that you should only fill up too 500cc bottles. Could I fill a 580 or will it over heat and break?
I've used the smaller compressors to great effect. I fill 500cc all the time. The initial fill, for the sake of the longevity of your compressor, Fill to 2000-2175 ~150 bar, and give it a break to cool down, then top off. Once you've got a fill you're golden. as 150-250/300 are much faster

They are really just telling you that it's for filling rifle size cylinders and not scuba or scba cylinders. 580cc are fine, it'll never know the difference.
The big concern is heat. If you run a small, rifle filling only, compressor for long periods of time it will overheat the seals an toast them. Keep your runs to less than 10-15 minutes, shorter if possible and you'll likely be fine.
I have three or four GX CS2 compressors and I fill almost everyday with one of them, only guns and the runs are less than 10 minutes. I even fill 700cc cylinders, so if the runs are short, the compressor is fine. I do try to keep my hand on the head if it's a long fill, say from empty to 700cc @ 250 bar, and give it a rest when I think it's getting hot. No problems yet.
