Tuning Canadian FX Impact M3 limited to 495 FPS.

Good evening guys, I'm fairly new to PCP guns and this is my first post on this forums.
I live in US, but found a good deal on used FX impact M3 in Canada few months ago. I bought that gun before new year but never had a chance to go out and shoot it until this past weekend. To my surprise maximum speed of 22 cal 18.1gr JSB pellets was only around 500 FPS give or take. I contacted the seller and apparently this is Canadian version of FX impact M3 limited to 495 FPS. It was totally my mistake not paying attention to description before buying.
So the question is what is the difference between Canadian version (495FPS) and US regular full speed version? Is it only in settings or do I need to replace some parts? The current settings on the rifle is 150bar first reg, 75 second, valve adjustment is on line 3, macro power wheel on 16, and micro fine adjustment is on 4.

I don’t know about the hammer but the reg for sure is modified to run at low pressure. The UK versions have an anti-tamper seal and a stack of bellville spring washers that are specked for low pressure. The washers can be changed. Look for a video on FX impact regulator maintenance by “sub12airgunners” on YT. If you’re not into tinkering then get a US reg from FX or an aftermarket from Huma.

An email to FX might help. I'd guess a port restriction of some sort. Likely the brass barrel port but asking FX would be best bet
Probably needs a heavier hammer and hammer spring
Thank for reply guys i gonna give it a try.

Thank you. Is UK version limited to 500 FPS and 12 FT/LB too?

I'm in the UK. I have a .177m3 limited to 12ftlb. The biggest difference is the size of the plenum. The power block and transfer ports may well be different aswell. Also we don't have the quick tune. Or the adjustable front valve. It's entirely possible to swap all of the parts over and get full power out of it. But it's probably going to be expensive. I fitted the quick tune and adjustable front valve to mine without problem. But left the small plenum on so I can keep at sub 12ftlb. The barrels are only 500mm aswell. The same as the compacts

This is my dream rifle. my "FAC" or as we call it "PAL" is expired. I could renew it but I dont have any real fire arms at the moment.
The FX Impact is my dream air gun but I am not sure if I should "dream" for the under 500FPS version or the "real" version as I am going to call it.

Can the "real" version be tuned down to sub 12ftlb?

This is counterintuitive for many people and they often scoff but…. If you increase the reg pressure on a full power M3 (or any other gun with HS adjustment), you increase the variance in power available with hammer adjustment. I just walked a guy through this via PMs. He was going lower (down to 80bar) but couldn’t get <20fpe and I convinced him to try 140 with very light hammer spring tension. This got it down to 12fpe, almost silent and hundreds of shots/fill.

Still, I down really understand why people in UK etc want to spend 2k on a 12fpe gun. I can’t see how it does any better than say, a dreamline…
