carbine stocked

I love my carbine Prod.I realize it is a lot easier to shoot because of the stock, then it dawned on me,one of the main reasons it is easier to shoot is because it has a rifle scope on it!

Yes indeed.Another thought ... was shooting my pistol scope pistols, the bigger the bell+more light the easier it is for me= for my shooting pistols I need a bigger bell and better optics...

Handgun scopes are pretty tricky to use. You have to get your eye lined up just right and because of the long eye relief it is not very forgiving. This makes scopes pistols almost impossible to shoot off hand. Off hand I will do as well with a red dot and no magnification as I would with a Leupold 4x handgun scope. Now, rest the pistol on a bag and it's a whole different story.

A rifle scope definitely relaxes the stringent eye placement requirements of a pistol scope. A stock also increases stability by a big margin.

There are not many makers of good high quality pistol scopes either. Leupold and Burris top my list. I have a 3-12x Burris handgun scope which is amazing, but if you're not shooting rested it's a real pita.

I use rifle scopes on the pistols that are accurate enough to hit things at fifty yards. Recently upgraded from a 20 year old 4x32 Bushnell Sportview to a Tac Vector Veyron 3-12x44 AO scope on the Bluegun because I figured if I could see better I would shoot better. It's a compact scope so at 17 ounces it is still much heavier than the Sportview but not overly so. Not sure of the outcome of the change as yet.
