Carbon barrel sleeve??

Matte finish and hidden inside of the black aluminum shroud. Explain to me how this is for "looks" again? Also took time to make sure bond was as uniform as I could get by slowing working it into the tube. Then let it set up while installed, and supported inside shroud. This barrel shoots outstandingly.

The barrel on the other gun has a LW barrel bonded with Matte carbon fiber as well. I actually have a tensioning shroud that makes it shoot even better. Carbon fiber is desirable for its stiffness and lightness. If I had wanted something heavier, I would have used aluminum or steel for the tensioning shroud.

I like the idea of the LW sleeved barrel. Makes more sense than the multi-piece FX design.

I have not seen any before and after accuracy tests for this mod. I cannot say it is good, bad or just better. The data does not exist. Then there is the application of doing it with a thorough 100% bond. I think it would be a serious challenge to accomplish. Even then, I could not say 100% would make a difference over a less complete bond. The data does not exist. What I can say with authority is the FX barrel system delivers a very consistent barrel finish. Much better than their competitors. Why you say? Because the barrel is made smooth and polished BEFORE the rifling is done as the rifling is accomplished from the outside surface. That makes the FX barrels very consistent. In the PB world I know of only two manufacturers that do this. Heckler & Koch in Germany and Steyr in Austria, but they have huge, very heavy, expensive, hydraulic barrel hammering machines to do this with thick barrel blanks. Most air gun barrels are button rifled and in no way can they compete in smoothness with FX barrels. FX guns are very accurate right out of the box, so what are we talking about here?
