Carbon fiber shroud for Crown MK2

I saw one on Bulletcentral and the listing was unclear if it would work on a MkII so I called to confirm. So I ordered it and it is not compatible in any way with a MkII that has the brass nut gland over o-rings and three spacers between the barrel and outer tube. It’s some earlier barrel assembly that I can find almost no information about.

So whatever you do don’t buy that. Or at lead buy mine for a huge discount.

The problem is the fine threads for the end pieces.
Carbon fiber and threads are pain in the ...

Anyway on a Crown the weak point on the barrel is the 14mm that is fixed into the rifle body.
I don't think it will improve much to change the shroud to CF pipe.

I experience no barrel poi shifts in my FX Crown with super light barrel.
But my Crown with walnut wood stock is giving my POI shifts when shooting Benchrest targets, with a traditional bipod fit to a picatinny rail on the wood stock.
I tried making a 3d printed bottle mount with a picatinny rail. But it made the poishift so much worse when i shoot on a benchrest target.

After many trials - i found that the two screws fixing the the stock must be very tight, and then i either use a tripod with a ball head that turn freely. Or i use my newly purchased Accu Tac FC-4 G2 bipod.

That improved the accuracy a low when moving between the targets. The Crown is still sensibel for weight and distribution of the weight at the bipod / rear.

But anyway I discovered a major accuracy improvement with the quite expensive Accu tac FC-4 G2 bipod.

Understand me right - My crown shoots one hole groups all day - Challenge is moving between targets.

Hi,

Your bulletcentral will definitely work with your Crown Mk2…

That carbon shroud is designed to slide Dreamline barrels into it.

You take the Dreamline barrel and leave the moderator end cap installed on it - the mod end cap screws into the bullet central shroud.

Looks great and makes the Dreamline barrels look like they were designed for the Crown. (Dreamline barrels work in the Crown but look a bit “skinny”)

Also, there is a space between the muzzle of the Dreamline barrel and the end of the carbon shroud, to act as an air stripper / moderator, so you may not need a moderator or may be able to use a smaller moderator.

I did a post on this a while back with pictures.

Hope you have a Dreamline barrel so that you can try your bulletcentral shroud.

Thanks for the info. I no longer have the Crown and if I did, I would still be salty about having to buy a different barrel to make the kit work.
