The January 16th CASA Heaven's Ranch(Chino Hills, CA) field target match was held under partly sunny skies. Temperatures were in the high 40s at the beginning of the match and reached the low 60s by the end. Winds were light, about 1-4 mph. Ten shooters attended the match.
The 48-shot course consisted of eight lanes with three targets per lane except for the one offhand lane that had just two targets. The offhand lane targets were shot three times each.
Our new rangemaster Steve Delgadillo set up a nice course that catered to both new and experienced shooters. Thanks to the early morning cloud cover, the sun did not cause any scope white-outs so nobody rushed to buy any March or Schmidt and Bender units today.
In Hunter Piston John Knapp and Jeff Carmello ended up tied with 36/48-great shooting. Hector Alfaro just about cleaned the course in Open PCP(47/48)! Very strong scores were turned in by Larry Albach(44/48) in Freestyle PCP and Steve Delgadillo(42/48) in Hunter PCP. Not to be left behind, Art Burciaga had a great day in Freestyle Piston with an excellent 42/28.
