Cataloging your collection

I've got a little notebook with current configuration of each airgun.

Projectile and fps/fpe, as well as settings to arrive there. Each entry also contains collected BCs from that barrel @ that speed. Some of the entries have a copy of dope data for various projectiles, but most of the dope data is stuck to gun, or kept with the gun.

Some of the entries have info for various barrels that I have that fit that gun, and THAT barrels preferences.

But nothing about the $$$ value.

When my dad passed I found that there were things that I either did not know about some of his firearms, or things that I’d forgotten. I’m trying to include comments now, on each one on my list, so that things will be clearer. I’m referring to trigger work, factory returns, smith work, aftermarket parts, upgrades, spare parts, ammo nuances, etc. Many have a brief tale that may need to be told to the next gen of ownership. And if you’re leaving these for family and friends, maybe let them know if there are some that just need trading off. Family may hang on to your unwanted stuff while they assume you placed a higher value on some things than what you may actually have done. Be fair and let ‘em know when something needs to get gone.
