N/A CF Tank purchase advise needed! should i get the 700cc bottle plus the 6.8l tank or just the bottle and refill from car battery or maybe get 2x 700cc?

Hi guys

here is what i am thinking of buying for my dreamline lite .30 cal

please advise what is more practical- i guess i am trying to safe by not buying the big 6.8l tank and just fill my 700cc cf bottle direct from the tuxing at home or from the car battery..

would you rather (assuming you were getting the 700cc cf bottle like i do)

1. just get the 700cc bottle and refill it every time from the tuxing compressor at home or from battery car

2. get the 700cc bottle plus the 6.8l carbon tank and fill both with tuxing at home/car and/or chug along the heavy 6.8l tank to wherever you drive shooting (i know there is some air transfer loss between the 2 tanks)

3. get maybe 2x 700cc bottles and fill each at home with tuxing (or from the car) and swap them- its light and easy plus the tuxing does not have to work so hard (get hot) because it can fill each 700cc bottle fast and by the time the 700cc bottle is empty- the tuxing has cooled down.. i just need to wait few minutes every time to fill the 700cc bottle between shooting sessions

4. maybe you have another solutions that i missed?

I guess heavy is relative to the user. For ease of topping of my guns I bought and received a 3 liter tuxing tank last week.
Works great but didn’t last long enough. Was looking at the 6.8 liter and the physical size and weight. I didn’t consider it to be prohibitive, then looked at 9 liter and again didnt think it was bad. So I ordered the 9. Filling with a Gx4i

What are you shooting? I would skip the 6.8 unless you are shooting big bore. It is big, heavy and expensive. If you are getting a GX anyway... I would buy the spare 700cc or a buddy bottle. They will fit into a backpack and weight about 2#.
the 700cc bottle will go on the gun replacing the original aluminum cylinder 290cc

If you're strapped for funds just get the compressor so you don't have to rely on others to fill you for a shoot. If you can afford both getting at the very least a small buddy bottle improves the quality of your experience in a way that is hard to describe.

Shoot, fill off bottle a couple times , take a break and let the compressor fill the bottle. Back to shooting for a couple fills.

The bottle you're looking at will keep you going a long time. If you happened to have an old paintball tank and wanted to switch the regulator for a fill station that's another cheap way to go (i use this for hiking around) . Having more air than you need really only grows your circle of airgun pals. BTW. 700cc is in the range that compressor is happy to deal with, but you will be waiting depending on where you set your dreamline regulator and how deep you discharge your 700cc. For me, I shoot to reg pressure(150 bar) and fill, otherwise I fill every mag for a known precision envelope my gun has.

I started very much like you are but with a way lower quality gun imho. It ended up here and I traded labor for 2 tanks and was given the others, only bought the 92 ci little guy with the neoprene cover. I don't bring a compressor with me anymore for obvious reasons.

yes 6gun- you have a lovely collection :D

i think i will start slowly and just get the 599euro compressor and the 700cc bottle.. that way i can shot 40-50 shots from the get go.. plus i can fill the 290cc aluminum cylinder for another 20-25 shots which would give me maybe 70 shots total before the need to refill with compressor

after that i might just have enough.. will see. at least its a plan to start with..

i have some funds :ROFLMAO: but am a scrooge when it comes to buying- always buy cheap, always chinese..always buy twice... but here i can just buy the compressor and the 700cc just to start and later (or sooner) add the 6.8l tank.. that way i dont feel sooo guilty about spending so much on my hobby- i rather do it in stages

don't do it is stages.....DO IT NOW!

bigger tank = more smiles

Seriously tho, you're going to buy all this stuff eventually (trust me) ...so you might as well get it over with up front.

This is not a bad idea, and you aren’t out anything if you wait on the larger tank.

I sort of started similarly in the beginning, but quickly realized I wanted more air quickly, so I could get on with my shooting. 30 can be an air hog, but if you are a patient person and can take your time, you may find you don’t need the larger tank. I find that I will most often shoot several hundred rounds at a time, so I wouldn’t have the patience. That being said, not having spare mags or single shot loading does often make me more patient and shoot a lot less on a given day, so I might could make a setup with no tank work if I went into it knowing I was going to go slow and not shoot a lot either.

yes my friend- i hear you! :ROFLMAO: deep inside i know, i will end up buying it all plus much more..

but i would like to do it in stages because i want to grow into it in stages if you know what i mean..

i want to learn first the simple mods, just the basic gun, and simple scope, tuning, and easy refilling.. and then i want to step up the game to better things..

that way i know the difference between now and then when the things were cheap and small..

hundred rounds at a time! :D that is crazy for my taste but im sure i will grow to that level too..

but the question is how much fun you have with your gun how far are you shooting to dispatch those 200-300 rounds?

i will only shoot in my shop- its 25m long and sometimes go to my concrete company where i can set up between huge piles of sand and shoot maybe 100m there.. and of course i want to go there after the crows..

which caliber do you shoot?

mine is air hog as you stated.. :ROFLMAO:

I shoot all calibers. Currently shooting 22 and 25 the most at 25-100 yards.
When I am really burning through rounds the most is testing/fiddling and playing precision paper target games. I usually shoot the slowest when shooting 177 because I am usually shooting field target style and moving around a lot.
