Cheap accurate air pistol?

First ones that come to mind are the Beeman P17.Very accurate and nice trigger. Single pump and single shot. Next would be the Crosman 2240 but would need a little trigger polishing to make the trigger halfway decent. Which is easy to do.A CO2 single shot. And the Crosman vigilante which is a revolver and multi shot. All these three are very accurate and cheap in price.I would stay away from blowback because they usually aren’t very Accurate.I gave a sigsauer blowback pistol to another member here and he messaged me back and said it kicked like a bastard. And he was right. That’s why I gave it away because it was just too hard to shoot accurately.

I’ll agree with Ripper. The Beeman P17 and the Crosman 2240 are both great pistols for a light budget. One being a single stroke pneumatic and the other a co2. I own both pistols and enjoy them both. The P17’s single stroke is pretty stout. You open the top of the pistol and then compress the air on the down stroke while closing it. Once you get a system figured out it’s doable but tough. I’m always watching my finger placement so that they don’t get pinched. The trigger is really very nice for a $40 pistol. The power is low but good for plinking and 10 meter targets.

My Crosman is actually a 2300 from the custom shop. It is in .177 and has a 10 inch Walter barrel and a steel receiver. It’s a bit nicer than the basic 2240 but they are cousins. If you like to tinker and make modifications the 2240 is a great gun. There are tons of mods that you can DIY or buy parts and then customize. You can also ad after market stocks and create a little carbine.

Yeah I forgot about the 1322 and I don’t know why because I have one. But it would be a good choice also. And I also have a 2300 from the Crosman custom shop also but They are closed up for now.And like was mentioned it is the cousin of the 2240.I also got the steel breech And 10 inch barrel and a centerpoint scope mounted on it and it that time it was only a little over $100 for the whole package. You saved a lot of money at the custom shop.

Lol the sig kickback was too strong? I was looking into one the kicked back or a revolver as they have multishots but they dont appear to be good choices.

Yes, my Sig was. You’re not going to get the greatest accuracy out of a blowback. The Crossman vigilante is a multi shot and is accurate. I haven’t shot mine in a while but I believe it shoots around 440 ft./s. How long it will last is it another Question because it is not made of good of materials as the old revolvers that Crosman made were. But a bit more velocity than the older revolvers that they made. What are your plans for it? Just plinking and target practicing? Or hunting also? If your budget is it a little more, there is more options. I have a Walther CP 88 that is also accurate but just a little low on power Unless you get the competition model which has a little longer barrel. When I bought it it was $180 but they have went up in price. It’s a nice gun and comes with a hard case. What I like about it also is you can shoot it in Single or double action. It is made by Umarex And is made in Germany unlike some of their other airguns.(Some of theirs are and some are not made there) With cheap and accurate, there is only so many choices. You will want adjustable sights which all these guns mentioned have. There is a lot of the cheaper ones that don’t. And going back to the Crosman 2240, there are hundreds of accessories and modifications that a lot of sellers have for that gun. You can also make it a multi shot if you want. There’s a guy that sells what is called a Gravmag That fits into the breech And loads pellets by gravity. You can do a Google search on all these pistols and even the magazine for the Crosman.A lot of these parts are even available on eBay from a lot of the seller. But it would help if you would tell us what your use is going to be with it because some of them you Can add scopes and some you can’t.

2240XL, I say the XL because it has the steel breach & 1/2x20 threaded barrel. 40 to 50 consistent shots at around 450 fps per cartridge. Only drawback is it needs some type of sights, red dot or whatever. I shoot with a range officer and an ex cop a lot. Both now own a 2240 of some type and love them. You could order a super sear but for a lot less replace the trigger spring. Also have a Diana Airbug, 525 fps in .177, comes with open sights and has a dove tail if you want a different optic. $129.00 PA. Pretty darn accurate and again around 40+ shots per cart. And has a very adjustable two stage trigger.

I think a Crosman 2240, with a steel breech, or 2300T with a GRAVmag and a Supersear would fill your needs. It would be a 9 shot repeater with a nice trigger. You would need to install a red dot or a scope though or you can by the raised sights from them also.

The Bio-man Is the Crosman 2240 Guru and I hope he would chime in and he did. I’ve been wanting to get the Gravmag For my 2300 also for quite a while but keep buying whole air guns instead and is keeping me broke. I will get a Gravmag before too much longer though. If You decide to go in that direction do you like Mike Mentioned and get a 22 caliber. Mine is a 17 caliber and I wish I would’ve went with the 22 because those tiny pellets are not easy for me to single load in that Particular gun. But again the Gravmag will Take care of that problem.
