cheaper compresor

depends if you want a Yong Heng or a clone. They seem to all be made in small workshops in China somewhere. eBay- they run $200 and up, Amazon runs typically over $300 for the same compressors. Some looked on Ali Express, but all seemed to be in the $200 and up range.

I'd definitely buy from US Stock, don't have it shipped from China, as Returns are a bit difficult

Dam" to bad ya did,nt get the Tuxing with the big black head. They don,t seem to ever come up with the problems like the Hen's.If the hens goes to hell you can order a Tuxing head and piston assemble for $85 bucks that will eliminate all the plumbing and hoseing on the Hen.

Any model would like shut off

IMO, the auto shut off is useless. I have disconnected mine. In auto mode, it turns off at about 4200 psi and when it cools it will be under 4000. The instructions say to depressurize before shutting off but you can't do that if you don't precisely know when it is going to stop. I'd rather shut it down when I want it to, not when it wants to. I recommend getting either the hard-cover or the adjustable shutdown model.

For me the auto shut off is a desirable feature because I always stay away from the compressor for safety reasons.

I just noticed now that the instruction of my Yong Heng advices users to bleed the air prior to shutting the compressor down in order to avoid "damage done by the high back pressure" but I cannot figure out how the compressed air can go into the machine because there is a reed valve at the top of the 2nd stage cylinder to stop reverse flow of compressed air.

Is my understanding on the metallic plate ( reed valve ) at the top of the 2nd stage cylinder correct ? no ?

In China, they don't use the brand name Tuxing but Duge. It appears that there are Tuxing "clones" in the market. The following comparison is from the official on-line shop of Duge in China :

Genuine Tuxing ( Duge ) has bigger head, there are more tubes inside and they are made of stainless steel. Clones have less tubes and they are made of aluminium :

Genuine Tuxing ( Duge ) uses 2 ( lower end model ) to 4 ( higher end model ) 2nd-stage piston rings instead of just one :
