Chickens!!! Some Real Pest

I did some late afternoon pesting with my EDgun R5M .25cal. I've been thinning the herd of chickens that have been digging up my yard, eating my hot peppers off the tree and taking a crap all over my carport and driveway.

Enough is enough! I actually started 2 weeks ago a little at a time in the afternoon when I get off from work. I got a few yesterday afternoon shooting mostly offhand from my chair and some prone shooting. All the shots were taken behind my neighbor's backyard who didn't mind at all.

There's about 4 more not shown in this pic because they were shot when it was dark out already. So far, the .25 Predator Polymags are my choice for chickens at close range within 50 yards. I still want to try some Hades and FX Hybrid slugs and see how they perform out of my R5M. It's time to let the chickens regroup and hopefully my Leshiy 2 will be here by then lol.

Having a picnic here in the lawn lol.

Down the hill is the shooting gallery behind my neighbor's house.

I was on a kayak trip on Kauai a few years back. I asked the guide if all those chickens were good to eat. He said "Oh, yeah, mon, they're really good! What you do is you put em in crockpot with a lava rock, cook it till the lava rock gets soft, then you throw away the chicken and eat the lava rock!" I think I might have chipped a tooth when I tried it....

Those chicken and rooster are what you called free range chicken being sold in the grocery, and they are much better tasting as the are naturally fed, not good for fried chicken, but very good for stew and soup based dishes.

Agreed the flavor is much better. I’ve raised my own chickens in the past but plucking them and game birds alike is a pain. Skinning them is faster but that’s where most the fat is on them.
