I shot two of my Chinese rifles today. I have two or three more that are under levers. One of these is a break barrel and the other is a side lever. Both shoot well and can shoot 2" groups at 25 feet offhand. I like the side lever best. I'm amazed at how well these cheap guns perform.
One thing I don't like is loading a pellet with the action open, danger of losing a finger or two.

My 2078 is a tack driver and the squirrels hate it. I put the bulk fill adapter on mine and run it with 1500 psi ,I get three good shots and a couple of pumps and it is filled again. The smack of the pellet is something else. Mark

1500 psi? Nice. What kind of velocities are you getting out of that thing?

Mine (a .22) runs a regulated average of 500-fps on Co2.

You for sure do NOT want to let go of the lever when loading, i think quite a few have lost parts of a finger like that.

I am down to 9.75 fingers myself, but due to a work place accident in my first job after school, seem like a finger is no match for a hydraulic piston on a huge metal shear ( the pistons that hold the metal plate as you cut it )

Have you spoken to our rifle maker and savior Mr. Weihrauch yet? Mr. Weihrauch creates some of the nicest pellet chuckers ever. I suggest an HW30 or HW50 to improve your trigger time fun and accuracy. Cans at eighty yards is doable if the wind cooperates. Weihrauch rifles have great automatic and bear trap safeties. I still hold the barrel when I cock and load them. There is always a chance...

It seems like's it pretty bullet proof?just make sure to pull the leaver all the way back? I have 2 Norinco's the sild leaver is in 22.Also mine could be a newer version as it has a safety on the side, you can put the safety on before cocking. great for pleaken around the yard,The other is a auto.I have peeps on both"auto way to much to shoot"

I've always thought the TS 45 sidelever was an elegant-looking rifle - clean stock, tapered barrel, and FWB-like details to the breech and cocking lever. Seems to me a more refined execution of it would be a great seller? Power would be limited in such a compact packge, but hey wouldn't a fixed-barrel HW 30 be a bit of OK?

Willy - is that a safety on yours over the trigger? Don't think I've ever seen one like that!

I don't have a chrony to test it. But with 14 grain crossman pellets the sound they make when they hit a squirrel is enough to make me sick. I used to have a chart that shows the pressure of c02 at a given temperature. I remember it stating it could go over 1100 psi on co2 on a hot day of 90 or over. I have had no problems with it at 1500 and it sure shoots harder. It has sat all winter with around 1000 psi when I took it out to shoot it today. Mark

I cock fully the lever then tuck the body of the rifle under my arm so the lever is on the other side of my arm (so my arm is in between the lever and the gun ) . then load the pellet . Hope that is clear enough ?

Cool, I was just wondering about trying that. If the trigger failed, it would hurt - but all of your parts would still be attached!

Not that unusual. They call it a " KL 3B Fast Deer"

The QB 58 is the coolest version of the Chinese sporting sidelevers

You might want to try other brands of pellets as well. In all my (25) airguns, the Crosmans consistently perform poorly.

I would like to think that I, and the guns can shoot 2" groups at 25 yyards but reread my op, I said 25 feet.

I have had my thumb smashed by that model of sidelever. It was a long, long time ago and I had no idea of the safety issues then. Thumbnail grew back, but I always keep a hand on the cocking lever now.
