Chinese microbore hose fail

Keep an eye on your microbore High Pressure hoses from China. Was filling tanks this morning and noticed this at about 4000 psi.

Luckily I noticed it, turned off the Tuxing two cylinder compressor and vented off pressure before it burst.
PSA: Keep a close eye on your equipment when filling your tanks and guns!
I bought the hose from eBay. 36 inch long microbore hose rated at in excess of 600 bar.

It happens, have to be careful with any regardless of where they are from.

I got a couple off of eBay that looked like that on the page's photos, but what I received was totally different. They had different springs, thick hoses and the male fittings that will tear up female Foster o-rings. I wasn't too happy about that and let them know. Both vendors refunded my money and didn't want the hoses back.

What is the address to where you got this one?

The compressor has worked great with zero issues. I’m normally topping off from about 3200 to 4500 with my 88 cubic foot SCBA tanks. Only takes 15 minutes or so. I have about 4 hours total run time on it. Sounds good, oil looks good, temps stay under 60 C even when topping off 2 or 3 tanks in a row. My mods I did for cooling and filter made the Tuxing as good or better than the AV. Hopefully it stays that way. You can find my project with the Tuxing here on AGN.

I had this happen to me 10 years ago with a very loud pop. Luckily no injury or damage. Since then, anything that has high pressure air in it must be not-Chinese made (preferably US made) or commercially branded (the company guarantees their product even if sourced from China). I am on Ebay very frequently, but I will not buy anything HPA related because of the many fake Chinese knock-offs. My life or of those around me not worth saving a couple of hundred dollars. I do not want to wet my pants every time I am filling the tank or the rifle.

I recommend Northshore Compressors, Inc. as one fo the places to buy rated HPA accessories here in the U.S.

I had the same thing happen on a normal wide bore hose only worse. The first time I pressurized it, the outer skin delaminated and was only contained by the protective spring armor which covered the full length of the hose. I bled it down and disconnected it from the bottle. After taking some photos for the supplier, I put the hose aside. About 1/2 hour later, I heard a loud bang that scared the poop out of me. Somehow, the air had leaked into the outer skin and resealed itself leaving a HP bubble. As for the micro-bore, 630 bar rated hoses that the Chinese are using. I think that they are actually German made or made to German specs. It's been said before and I will say it again. A certain amount of caution and vigilance needs to be followed when dealing with these type of pressures. Hey Mike. Looking at your photo, it appears that your hose is still containing pressurized air in those bubbles. Be careful how you dispose of it.
