Chipper #47 for the season, #4 for July

This one was facing me almost full on with the right side of the body slightly toward me. Shot entered the right side of the top of the head between the eye and ear. No pass through, DRT, no movement and no blood, so I think this one was a head/heart shot!

~15 yards with .177 Benjamin Fortitude Gen 2 using CPUM 10.5 @ ~755fps for ~12-13fpe at the muzzle.

Too hot and humid this morning to sit outside smoking a cigar...

Can't argue with your numbers!!

Nice job, and BTW for all the offended people....

With all the chips the OP has shot, he hasn't even put a dent in the population in his area I suspect!!

Thanks Will. I think I have put a dent in the population (I hope so!), but I am expecting my numbers to go up dramatically at the end of Summer/beginning of Fall. That is, if the chippers do what they did last year.

As for anyone offended, I only shoot pests that I have personal experience with causing damage to my property. I don't kill anything without reason, however YES, I do get a certain amount of pleasure from pesting. Especially when I make good clean kills and I try very hard to do just that.

A while back I posted a pic of the white rabbit that showed up a few months back. Well, some A-hole first shot it in the left side of the neck. It survived that... then (I assume the same A-hole) shot it just under the right eye. I have tried to catch it to take it to the vet, but the rabbit (I call him Buddy) will have none of that. He has lost his right eye completely but it seems the infection from the last shot has subsided. I think he might make it. He has been staying under a neighbor's out building and comes out when I bring out the chicken scratch for the other rabbits and birds. I'll try to take a pic when I get the chance.

It makes me sad that anyone would do such a thing. No, it makes me angry!

Just an update that I should have already written. "Buddy" (the white Albino European male rabbit) as I call him, has fully recovered and did NOT lose his right eye. I thought he had based on observations when his head was swelled up to twice its normal size. That must have been excruciatingly painful for Buddy. (heavy sigh)

Anyway, he has fully recovered and has been chasing/mating with the lady cottontails and actually comes up to me at feeding time, but I still can't pet him.

He will never make any babies with the cottontails (look it up), but I don't think he really cares. (chuckle)

I'll try to remember to take some pics of him soon...
