I felt that my LW POLYGONAL UNCHOKED .25 barrel had started showing a bit of inaccuracy since I had made the thread on the muzzle for LDC and reduced the overall dia.
When I pushed a pellet from the breach it was good almost all the way but too loose at the muzzle.
In order to fix it, I reduced the dia of muzzle of the barrel to around 9mm. I kept it in length of around 16mm.
Then I made a sleave out of high strength carbon steel. Also create inside dia of the sleave a bit less than the outer dia of the machined part of muzzle that was 16mm in length.
Then under high pressure pushed the sleave over the reduced outer dia of muzzle.
This created the desired choke inside the barrel muzzle area.
Then machined down the sleave and matched the original threads for LDC with new threads on the sleave.
Recrowned the barrel.
Pushed the pellet through the barrel and now the pellet is as much tight in the choke area as a normal LW choked barrel normally has.
Pellet showed better profile of polygonal impression.
Then polished the barrel a bit and shot the gun.
In 25km wind gusts 95 yards, the 14 shots group with 34 grain jsb mk1 .25 caliber pellets is promising.
A clear improvement.
