Chronographed my BSA Scorpion SE .25

I had some time today to do some testing with my new BSA Scorpion SE in .25 . I tried both JSB Exact 25.29 gr and the H&N Barracuda 31.02gr pellets and was pleasantly surprised by both. The shot counts were average I suppose, but this was a US spec gun so figured it might not be great with the 130cc air cylinder, but it wasn't outrageously bad.

I charged the air cylinder up to 3100 psi for both tests.

JSB Exact 25.29gr were tested over a 39 ( should have been 40, but 1 shot did not show on the chrono) shot string as follows:-

1st mag 2nd mag 3rd mag 4th mag 5th mag

691.0 fps 709.4 fps 729.2 fps 730.2 fps 705.0 fps
690.0 fps 709.4 fps 728.9 fps 727.8 fps 699.0 fps
693.1 fps 710.5 fps 729.5 fps 725.8 fps 689.8 fps
695.8 fps 710.4 fps 728.7 fps 726.6 fps 681.6 fps
696.8 fps 714.4 fps 728.1 fps 722.4 fps 670.6 fps
705.8 fps 715.5 fps 729.4 fps 718.7 fps 657.9 fps
704.0 fps 714.8 fps 728.8 fps 715.4 fps 645.4 fps
708.5 fps 719.2 fps 731.7 fps 711.6 fps

So average energy is approximately 28.8 FPE
H&N Barracuda 31.02 gr were tested over a 32 shot string.

1st mag 2nd mag 3rd mag 4th mag

653.5 fps 662.2 fps 671.9 fps 652.2 fps
655.4 fps 664.6 fps 669.9 fps 655.1 fps
659.7 fps 664.6 fps 671.3 fps 650.7 fps
653.7 fps 665.8 fps 664.7 fps 642.0 fps
653.6 fps 662.6 fps 671.8 fps 636.9 fps
655.7 fps 669.9 fps 664.1 fps 633.1 fps
660.4 fps 670.8 fps 666.2 fps 619.2 fps
658.8 fps 669.2 fps 661.7 fps 617.4 fps

So average energy is approximately 29.74 FPE

This is my first BSA and my first PCP gun. I got spoiled with the multi shot capability coming from a Crosman 2250 rat catcher and a Beeman R9 single shot loading. Ultimately, I want to fit a HuMa regulator to this gun as it might make things a bit more consistent, and may increase the shot count somewhat. I know there are variations s version available, not sure what one I should get?? Anyway, for a bone stock gun, I was quite impressed. Accuracy testing with these two pellets will happen next, but I need to to go to the range for that, but after seeing what people can get accuracy wise from the Scorpion and Ultra, I am looking forward to testing.
