IDK yet, that is why I would like it to be discussed! It is my opinion that it is too easy to just keep hitting the refresh button. There are folks here that manufacture parts on their own that advertise on the classifieds, and as it is now, I can’t complain about those individuals because their ad doesn’t change, doesn’t need to, and should reach new users and those just discovery this site and/or the classifieds section. Perhaps at the very minimum if something doesn’t sell, and the price or options never change, require the person to actually go through the process of making another ad. This route, I know has its own issues, hence creating this post to facilitate discord among the users in order to enrich the user experience for everyone! I mean, it has already been modified because people were inquiring on certain ads as to the poster clown shoe preference. Apparently enough of these individuals got tired of being called out so they lobbied for the current system that restricts ad comments. I’m not going to say it wasn’t getting out of hand, but it seemed to me that it was simply censorship because no one likes accountability through community peer-review. This is a trend we are seeing in all social media; xwitter, and now Facebook being front and center.
Nothing wrong with discussion. I think some folks are quick to jump hard because there is a fair amount of griping about the classifieds, albiet most is crying about the 10 post/ 10 day thing. Probably puts some folks on defense when they see a post regarding the classifieds. But... your post was productive. I know I didnt realize the filtering and seems others didnt realize as well so kudos!
