Should we have a sticky thread for Bad Sellers/Buyers in addition to the Classified Rules and Safe Practices at the top of the Classifieds?
@thauglor was good enough to post a Scam Warning in the Classifieds, but that'll drop off the first page in a day or two.
I reported the post, asking the mods to add the seller info provided in the list of names & emails on the bad actors on the Safe Practices page and received a reply that the member was banned & cross referenced emails & IPs.
That's a great start. Unfortunately, when I went to check the list today, none of the three email addresses or names provided were included in the list!
Banning the emails and IPs is fine, but once the parties start talking privately, the scammer can then provide an email address that appears to be safe since it isn't listed on the "Safe Practices" Bad Action list.
It might help to have a sticky thread in the Classifieds section that AGN users can contribute to. Bad actors will continue to pop up; it'll be easier if you let the AGN members help & contribute. That way, the main list can periodically be updated from the sticky thread, but users can search it in the meantime.
This is not to be confused with forum member feedback -this is separate, as it calls out scammers by name & email address. Anything can be faked, but at least it is a step in the right direction.
Hopefully @moderator1, @Moderator2, @Moderator3, @Michael, @Airgun Nation can help or give feedback.
If there's a better idea, I'm sure they'd love to hear it.
