Classifieds and PayPal (update)

If they are charging for F and F it is due to the few bad apples that buy from someone they have never heard of and send the money to a "friend". It is always the few that ruin it for the most. You see it all the time on this site.
WHAT!!!! People bending rules to benefit themselves with no regard to how it may affect someone else!?!
Say it ain’t so.
See it on firearm forum classifieds all the time to get around PP’s ban on firearm related purchases.
Personally PP’s aversion to guns is why I have and never will use them as a means of paying for anything.
The line has to be drawn somewhere and this is as good a place as any. I know there are people who will say that the loss of revenue will go unnoticed. It ain’t about PP’s revenue. It is about you forfeiting your principals and integrity for a few bucks.

Yeah. I just sent a PP F&F yesterday only to see a +$60 charge for sending +$2500.
Sucked!
A reasonable 2.4%. I don't get why some folks think transferring money should be free. PayPal has bills to pay too.
Not surprised they now charge for F&F as much as it's abused.

PS, up-charging (add x% for paypal etc) is also a big PP no-no. a good way to get your money tied up for months. :(

Some people are friendlier than others.

I bought something today and paid the $3 fee. Even though I thought we had struck an instant friendship based on two brief messages.

Dreaming big beats nickel and diming, anyway.

pretty crazy use my bank account no fees
@douger has it correctly.
There is no fee for using PayPal Frinds& Family if the payment is linked to your bank account.
Been a PP & eBay member since 2002 and that is still something I am unwilling to do.
I also prefer not to buy using F&F
And would much rather have the Purchase Protection that buying as PayPal Goods & Services provides
If the seller will not cover the (minimal) fee, I will.
Just my 2 scents

Douger and Squirrel are most correct. I just made a payment to my lawn service via PayPal FF which is linked to my bank with no fees what so ever. This horse has been beaten several times. Use a CC and you pay fees, they pay fees to the CC company so by charging you, they break even. Just quid pro quo. Link your bank account for FF or pay fees. Not brain surgery, just logical P&L.
