It has been nice readying about your similar journey. I have been crazy busy at work, and haven’t gotten go to a match yet with my Thomas, but like you, I have tried to spend time in the yard getting my dope right and practicing (I suck at the kneeling and offhand too).
I have the tape for my parallax wheel written out in pencil, and am waiting on my wife to create it in Photoshop.
I saw your note about the range finder. What I found I really like instead of the range finder is a 300 tape measure. I love that thing. It helped create my tape and it has helped me in practice/dope checking sessions. I can range and then flip over the tape measure and confirm I am where it says on the wheel. It is a little more accurate than my range finder and even helped confirm partial yardages too.
I’m hoping now that the first busy season of the year is over, I can find a little more time to get out and head over to the matches. It is nice having 2-3 sets of local matches fairly nearby.
