Clickable Leupold with side-focus--and can focus 25 yards or less?

Thanks for that. I actually have one of their 3-9s on my Weihrauch 30s. Nice scope. I didn't realize they made a side-focus scope. Apparently you are happy with yours. I'll take a look.

Thanks. I spent several hours scanning through the last few months of this forum. The Midas Tac (and BTR) seemed to have a lot of happy owners.

Too bad the 7-42 is 75 yard parallax.. Leupold needs to get those numbers down like higher end makes.

Once you go past the $2000 Leupold they are like the ten mile club Bushnells 75 yards focus scopes Those are specifically made for shooting extra long range and in turn closer parallax hinder clear focus for far shooting distances.

I would love to see Leupold engineer and market a few scopes aimed at the growing pcp market. Unfortunately we probably don't represent a large enough market share (yet) to get their attention. Hopefully that may change down the road.

Being the impatient person that I am, I just ordered an Athlon Midas Tac 6-24x50. Georgia Gun Works (I have no affiliation) has a good discount right now for air gunners, so I decided to pull the trigger for Christmas. I still hope to pickup a Leupold in the future, but I keep reading good things about the Midas Tac. I couldn't resist.

It's noticeably clearer than the Midas series what do you expect the Bushnell (shop smart they go for $450-$550 originally $1300-$1400) has Japanese glass however a 25 yard minimum focus and the Midas BTRs higher mags are 30 yard minimum. The TAC goes down to 10 yards as does the 2.5-15x BTR.

If you can find the Midas TAC for $450 and under that's reasonable IMHO but prolly see them go low as $400 or less soon.

Mr. Odoyle, this particular Bushnell Elite, the 6-24x50, has a parallax setting of 25 yards to infinity, which is good enough for me.
This was my 4th and last Elite scope.

I borrowed one from Bobby C for a couple weeks. It wouldn't snap into focus perfectly, the symptom was I would go back and forth on the focus wanting it to get clearer but it wouldn't do it. Both Bobby and I agreed about this problem and that the Midas TAC was superior in other ways as well as having more pleasing IQ.
I also had the 3-12 version which I sold for similar reasons.
Just because scopes are made in Japan doesn't mean these are better scopes, "clearly" they aren't all the time. I had $1500 Bushnell HDMR's that had mediocre glass at best.
Just giving a reality check here....
