I used to shoot my 853 everyday until the girlfriend got a hold of it. Now I have to buy another.

I picked one of these up a few weeks back, great little rifle. I would like to refinish the stock, this would be my first attempt at refinishing a stock. How difficult is it to remove and reinstall the action?

I have had a few CMP 853s over the years. Funny thing is I have never seen a need to mess with the trigger. Long and gritty but ridiculously predictable. For a while I had one of these and a FWB 603 to choose from and honestly with my seated off the knee basement shooting style I could not get any better of a group from the 603.
