Air Arms CO2 pistols

if you went to PA and looked at reviews, prone to jam is mentioned more than once
and these type of belt feed mags have a bad history of malfunctions
i would think a flat nose pellet is a must and lube yes but what kind for which mag
i have read that lube as in white grease can help
i believe it is more than the gun can do to pull the belt around the mag housing but i have never owned one of the belt mag pistols because they are prone to jamming

I've got a gen5 Glock with a belt magazine. I haven't experienced jams, but when I got it the trigger pull was so heavy it was almost unshootable. I lubed it with both moly grease and silicone spray lube and that made a major difference. Shooting about 500 shots through it also helped. The trigger is still awful, but much, much better than when I got it.

In general, I agree with marflow 777 belt fed magazines are a flawed design. There's just too much friction present in them for the trigger mechanism to overcome. Maybe if they were made of a different material and had roller bearings or something they might work better. I notice that some of the UK versions of these pistols use little cylinders instead of belts. That would limit the capacity significantly, but I imagine it also improves the trigger pull greatly.

Indeed, there are some that use internal cylinders instead of belts. They are essentially revolvers internally. And they experience a similar heavy trigger as the trigger pull must also rotate the cylinder (in double action).
The only CO2 semi-auto pellet pistol Iknow of that uses neither belts nor cylinders is the Crosman 600, a true carbine auto loader.

I've got one myself and it's a fantastic gun. They're much more accurate and powerful as well. I wanted one the moment I first saw MrBulk's posts on the old Yellow Forum of modified Crosman 600's and wheel barrows full of dead rats.

Yes, they are amazing pistols. The only mod I made to mine is a longer barrel …. for a tad more power and accuracy, not that if needed it 🙂. I’d like to get an ambidextrous grip for it someday so I could shoot with either hand.

Just purchased a sig Sauer P320 with some .177 pellets I loaded the ammo in got 3 shots and it jammed. Is there a specific pellet that I'm supposed to use and maybe some kind of lube maybe silicone. Some advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
They are pellet picky, have you tried some roundnose pellets? A friend of mine once owned this pistol and i think he used the el cheapo h&n excite pellets in it, he never got an issue as long as the co2 capsule was full.

Two things.
Best results are with wadcutters.
Push the pellet in until it bottoms out.

I put a tiny little bit of krytox grease under the belt and it works pretty well. Better than having oil leaking everywhere. I have only had a couple of jams before greasing and those were with round nose pellets sliding back and forth. When you push them in until they bottom out, it flairs the skirt a tad.
