Coltri or Alkin

Never seen a coltri in person but have had access to two different aitex units which did work prefectly, somewhat heavy if thi nking "portable" but with 2 people no problem.

Now " Curly " ( aka Bruce Dodson ) is a long time airgunner, used to be on the airgun news letter way back and is a great person to deal with should any issues ever arise with your unit.

The Alkin weighs 132 lbs. and the Coltri/Daystate is around 100. I know the Alkin or Airetex lopes along at around 1200 rpms and I'm speculating that the Coltri/Daystate runs at higher rpms. You may wish to check it out. Lower rpms means the compressor works less and runs quieter to achieve the fill speed. It's a Chevrolet vs. Ford comparison because both brands are excellent compressors. If someone offered me one or the other I'd take the Alkin/Airetex but I'd be happy with the Coltri/Daystate. I mount my compressor on a yard cart so it is easy to move around if I need to.

I own a Daystate T2. Its a relabeled 4-stage Coltri made in Italy (i.e. Daystate did nothing other than put their badge on it); even the owners manual is printed by Coltri). Its a beast: heavy, reliable & expensive, and capable of producing breathable air with the correct final stage filter; for air guns its overkill, but you get what you pay for. Search on AGN and you will find more posts from owners.

us regal !!! Bang on

FYI.. we are not affiliated with Airetex anymore. Airetex used to sell our compressors in the past but due to poor customer service they provided and their short warranty period, we have stopped working with them and started our own distribution network and servicing in the States. We carry all the parts and products in NJ warehouse with plenty stock.

Maxair is also coltri.
I found one at a pawn shop.for $800.
I was thinking something must be wrong
with it.i contacted maxair while I was there.
I sent 3 photos. They called me back in 5
minutes. They said buy it. So I did.
the only thing wrong was the gauge was leaking
through all the liquid had been pushed out.
there are some good videos on rebuilding
the coltri compressors also.

Old post but here’s my Alkin W31
I looked long and hard. Researched & talked to every dive shop I could. The majority of everything I learned was Alkin was the best deal I could find for my needs.
They now offer a vertical model. The frame is basically the same as a Dolly. Just tip & move where needed. Very nice & I’m happy I finally got a good one.

I was debating between something Jim Sheldon has rebuilt or a new Alkin. I went with Alkin but Jim’s a great option.
I’m not gonna get into the dissolving of the partnership of Curly & Alkin. I will say public court records are available if it matters, & once I read them all, it mattered to me morally.
Also, The US Navy uses Alkin exclusively. Alkin also donated compressors for the Boy Scouts that were trapped in those flooded caves.
All of these situations spoke to me of Alkin’s integrity.
