Compact scope for a bullpup?

I have a lot of compact scopes but my favorites are my Hawke Airmax 30 scopes. I hunt so it’s important to see my reticle at all magnifications so they are second focal plane. The AMX reticle gives me plenty of clear aiming points that aren’t cluttered. My second favorite and cheaper are my Discovery compact scopes.

For some time I was happy with the vector veyron, but struggled with the ffp on a relatively small magnification scope. 4-16.

Now I use a MTC Copperhead 4-16, sfp. Very happy with the size, clarity and weight.
Perfect for my prophet compact and cricket, both of which are off hand woods, barn rifles.
Which is why I chose the West Hunter 3-12x44 SF IR FFP version of the Vector, the IR allows the reticle to be useable throughout the magnification range. When dialed down to anything under 6x? I’m simply using the center of the crosshairs with IR on. I know a lot of guys poo poo IRs, but they make a difference or they wouldn’t exist. The “they add weight” argument is funny, seeing some of the monstrous rigs posted here. Some guys take light little guns, super heavy them up, but might complain because a IR adds weight to a scope?🙀

Go to the vector optics website and check out the new Veyrons they are coming out with. New reticles (finally a christmas tree), a fixed 10x, a 2-8x, and illumination as a choice now. The reticles are also thicker. SFP or FFP in all power ranges. They just cleaned house on what people have been asking for, and still kept the originals if anybody wants them.

I have tried several different scopes with my Akela and have settled on the Hawke Airmax 30 Touch SF 3-12X32. Besides liking the Hawke reticle, the touch is a "zero" eye relief scope with wide view (32mm objective) and all Akela owners know how tricky it can be to get a proper cheek weld on the adjustable (sliding fore and aft) cheek pad, as well as adjusting for proper eye relief with a normal scope. Ring height is also critical as you know. This is a relatively lightweight scope on the already hefty Akela, so that is a plus in my estimation. My current set up is perfect. I bought the touch from Pyramyd Air a few weeks back when they had that flash 20% off sale. I had been waiting for a pricing anomaly like that and pounced on the Touch. I knew I was going to like it because I already had another Hawke Airmax Compact 30 SF 3-12x40 with the same reticle and it had worked well on my Akela.

🟠 Here is a Scope Specs Table,
with about 50 scopes that are mainly SHORT,
have 10 yard side parallax,
feature a hold-off reticle (no BDC or simple crosshairs),
and have exposed turrets.

Most of them priced between $200 and $400.

🟠 You can compare the specs of each scope side-by-side:
Price
Warranty type
Field of view
Mil or Moa turrets
Mil or Moa reticle and type of reticle
Separated into FFP and SFP
etc. etc.

Happy shopping! 😊
