Are there any matches or perhaps some class of competitive shooting, where the rules allow only for a forward bipod and maybe a rear shooting bag?

Field Target Hunter Class uses shooting sticks, sitting on a bucket. Other Field Target Classes use bum bags to sit on the ground, etc. Lots of fun if you are interested.

FT hunter class can use an unattached bipod (or sticks as mentioned above). Most hunter competitors sit on a bucket, but sitting on the ground or a bumbag is allowed too. While prone position is legal, you will find many courses are not prone friendly.

Thanks for the feedback! I'd like to get out there and do a competitive shoot sometime, I wouldn't want to go against anyone using a mechanical shooting vise (artillery style) if that makes sense. It does look pretty fun
