Compressor ?

Are these compressors any good. Pretty cheap on eBay so wasn’t sure. Thanks for any good or bad info

Terry,
They work but with limited lifespan. Heat, the main enemy of HPA compressors, is handled by high-speed fans in these units, while Yong Heng compressors utilize fan, water and crankcase oil cooling. Expect a year to year and a half (20-25 hours run-time) before the high-speed fan units require overhaul, Yong Heng can last years. For multi-power ability and remote location use, the high-speed fan units can fill a niche. WM

I had the yong heng and hated having to fill up a tote with ice just to use the compressor for 20-30 minutes at a time. Wasn’t sure how these styles worked or if they had heat issues also. Thanks tho

Check out the GX Compressors, they are pretty good quality and tend to run cooler than most. I have the CS4 which is capable of filling everything I have, but if you don't fill tanks or need to fill higher than 4500 psi, the CS1, CS2 or CS3 would be worth considering.

Heat, I'm afraid, is part of compressing air, impossible to avoid. Seems a trade-off, ease of use with shortened lifespan or set-up hassle with longer one. One new member said he'd replace high-speed fan cooled compressor every year, or so, however most agree this could be a budget breaker. I only fill guns, so, after I shoot 3-4 to regulator setting, set-up YH and refill, repeating same for next few. I keep 9 quart-size water-filled lemon juice bottles in freezer, found easiest to use for chilling water. Agree, one gun, or two, would make setting up seem too much. FLgunner makes a good point with GX, lower gearing allows slower, cooler operation, so, longer lifespan should follow. WM
