About the only compressor that really has my interest is the Shoebox F10 but I'm wondering if I've got all the data or if I'm looking at it wrong. I have a small DeWalt pancake compressor already. I only use SCUBA tanks so wouldn't ever go over 3000psi.
What I kinda have in mind is looping the 50ft of low pressure compressor hose over the trusses in the garage and then attaching it to the Shoebox. It seems that in that manner I could use gravity and the stopcock on the pancake to blow out most of the condensed water. That plan, coupled with living in Arizona, and making a point to only run the compressor at times when the humidity is low (<15%) would keep me from needing additional moisture removal systems....I think?
A quick perusal of this topics section makes it appear that most of us are buying Chinese compressors like the Yong Heng, etc. Help me understand why the Chinese compressor option would be better than a Shoebox.
For Shoebox cons I've got: slow, need of first stage compressor? (that I've already got), price
For Shoebox pros I've got: easy service/rebuild, parts availability, support, track record, no water cooling source in vicinty of pump increasing humidity level in the air the compressor intake
For Yong Heng/Tuxing cons I've got: track record, parts availability, support, user servicability, water right there in either buckets or a sink increasing water in the air, no need for an extra compressor
For Yong Heng/Tuxing pros I've got: fast, cheap
So again, help me understand why the Chinese compressor option would be better than a Shoebox. I feel like I'm missing something.
