Huben Contemplating the Huben GK1, questions...

Seems like a sweet piece however I am reluctant on a couple of points, maybe owners can chime in here? :)

One concern is my local dealers "limited" warranty, that is if damage is done to the pistol using it outside of guidelines warranty may not apply, guidelines for example being, dont pull the trigger under 160bar/2300psi (.177 version in V3) as that might trigger an air dump and damage all sorts of things.

1. How often do you experience these air dumps? How hard are they on the hardware? Have you experienced any damage yet?

2. When it does dump, you might have a pellet in the barrel right? How do you check for that? Is it a big operation to solve?

3. What happens if you fire on an empty chamber? Bonus Q how do you actually tell if there is a pellet in the chamber ready to go?

It seems like an awesome piece but I do get the impression it's kind of fragile as well.
(Oh and I only have a compressor that can fill it to 300bar/4500psi, probably not a problem).

I have not had a single air dump (.25 cal), you can fire on empty chambers no problem, but it makes a surprisingly loud noise when you do.

You can tell if there is a pellet in the chamber by rotating the cylinder - this gun fires from the cylinder / mag.

If you suspect there might be a pellet lodged in the barrel however there is no simple way to tell by looking - no line of sight exists through the barrel from the back of an assembled gun, it is all enclosed.

I can think of a few different common sense solutions other than disassembly, but the gun is very easy to take apart and put back together again.

How low do you shoot it? In terms of bar/psi?

And thx for this piece of info: "You can tell if there is a pellet in the chamber by rotating the cylinder - this gun fires from the cylinder / mag."..

I have the GK1 .25 and never had an air dump. Like all PCP's if you want to have no issues always shoot them once a month or so as the longer you never shoot them the seals could go bad. When the weather has been to bad to shoot is when I have dry fired it with no issues at all.

My compressor only fills to 4500 PSI and I use that to fill my air tank to 4500 PSI; that is not a problem at all. When I go to the range I can shoot all day and my tank will still be at about 3800 PSI. The GK1 is very reliable as long as you shoot pellets. The ones whom have some issues due to jabs are mostly when they use slugs as the GK1 you need to get just the right slut diameter and to me it is not worth the hassle as this is just a pistol so why bother? I have shot thousands of rounds without any problems. I just one day at the range I went thru about 750 rounds and would have done more if I could rapid fire. The accuracy is amazing and just the best pistol out there. I sold all my other air pistols after getting the GK1 as I could not find time to shoot them.

I attached a pic of my GK1 with the shorty moderator you can get from one of the people on the forum and the other is my first day at the range where I sighted the green dot at 25 yards then used the one target for the entire day, repasting new bullseye stickers on every single range break because all 5 bullseyes were filled with holes in each round. Oh yes we shot 750 rounds that day!
