Converting Turkish walnut model 95 stock to fit Striker 1000

The same feller that gave me the 760-D Pumpmaster his buddy picked out of the trash while out junkin' gave me a Hatsan model 95 stock that needed some TLC. I liked the Turkish walnut better than the spray-stained 1000x stock. But I like the Monte Carlo style of the 1000x stock better. So at this point, I'm going to redo both. The 1000x will be re-stained with " medium walnut" Danish oil. It's looking real close to the Turkish walnut. Especially with some Tru-Oil over it. I know the Danish Oil has varnish mixed in, but the honey/maple syrup color of the Tru-Oil would get it closer to the right tone, I think? And even though mineral spirits will thin most stains, it will not remove it once dried. But it will cut the shine to satin, and get the dirt out of the surface.
So I sanded a couple spots with 400-grit emery paper, after scrubbing with mineral spirits and a cotton ball;

If you have a Lowe’s or Home Depot around, “cirtistrip” will take all that spray stain off easily. Wipe with acetone afterwards and you will be down to bare natural wood. The whole process will take about an hour.

I sand the stocks afterwards to prep for the stain or truoil.

Well, after some more sanding, my 95 stock looks lighter than yours;

And a bear to sand down through 2 layers of stain. So I got a quart of this paste Strip X;

​Ordered the stripper, brass brushes and blue towels from Walmart, as I have no car atm. So next week I can finish getting it down to bare wood for refitting.

​And I got medium Danish oil for finishing it. Msybe Tru-Oil over that to tone the color some more? This color would look good on my Trail .25cal stock I think?

​And did you have to rinse the stock with water after removing the stripper/finish? If so, how long to let it dry out?

Thanks for the great pics jaydocs! I just did a video on the Striker stock conversion. Also my scope walk solution with the 2 scope stop kits Hatsan USA so graciously sent me after I explained what happened thus far. 

​After seeing what the stocks look like stripped, I'll be using the medium walnut Danish oil above on both the 95 & 1000x stocks with Tru-Oil over that to get the stock color right.
And since I have Minwax oil stain #224, " special walnut" that closely matches the Crosman stain on my 760 v1, I'm thinking my Benjamin Trail .25 would look great in that color;

Jadocs, I'm going to take your advice and get the citristrip. It's non-toxic, unlike the stuff I showed above. " Fumes are lethal". To cold to use it outside, so I'll save it for warm weather use. I need to get these gun stocks done. Hopefully, Walmart has it since we're heading there later.

Okay, I'm long overdue for an update. I got the stripping, brushing, etc done on the 95 stock. Cleaned up a couple areas on the 95 stock with a Dremel and a ss wire wheel to fresh wood. Then did a color test with Tru-Oil and a Qtip. The wood seems to have a medium walnut tone naturally. So far as the lighter colored Turkish walnut is concerned. It has a nutty amber glow when the flash is used. And the 3 coats of sealer and stains they used filled the pores and make a nice contrast. I can't wait to see what the grain streaks look like! I'm working on part 2 video, but here's a few pics...

Okay, since I was forced to source a new miter box & back saw from Harbor Freight tools up the corner, I finally got back on this project. Lookin' pretty decent so far too. But still has some minor fitment issues to address. Here's the video, part 2;

....it seems i remember the model 85 (webley jaguar) and model 95 having a larger tube than striker 1000 (webley vmx).....i do recall fitting a model 125 power plant into a webley tomahawk stock , tho..

The striker 1000 dropped right in. But a bit lower on the back than I would've preferred. There's a right angled black -plastic piece that fell out. I think it replaces that U-shaped metal part the rear stock/trigger guard bolt goes through on others like Benjamin? So that might be what holds the back of the action tube up? I'll have to play around with it and see?

Well, after sanding the stock down to 800grit with emery paper & getting some 5 coats of Tru-Oil rubbed on the 95 Turkish walnut stock and reassembled, here's a couple pics of it. Beautiful grain figuring on this piece of wood!

Just finished stripping all the black paint off a Mendoza purchased. After removing the paint I also beveled and smoothed the cut out
