Well, that makes 2A a second class right compared to others like freedom of speech. Even that gets violated routinely when it shouldn't be.

I do agree if someone commits a violent crime of circumstances that should be well-defined, supervision is necessary including not handling weapons. I'm not sure what the long term solution would be for someone who fully reforms his or herself in that circumstance.

I'm not a policy maker, but I'm a reasonable and non-violent person myself who believes it's an important discussion to have if this country ever starts thinking about restoring some of our lost or selective freedoms. I think we've seen the slippery slope tilt a little far against mostly law abiding people, while at the same time real criminals - and by that I mean people who are dangerous to others - are often ignored.
I totally agree with you…what is the balance between your RIGHT under the 2A and public safety? I don’t know.
Gun laws are a slippery slope and it is my belief that liberals want nothing short of gun confiscation while allowing criminals to run wild and not enforce the laws that we already have

Hey, great having a rational discussion with you!👍🏼

If Dominick is guilty of some heinous crime(s), do you REALLY think he would share that here knowing that he will be looked down upon for having committed such crimes? With what he’s already shared I’m sure some people wouldn’t deal with him. If he said that he committed some atrocious crimes he would be treated like an outcast. Racketeering is so broad, he could be weed grower with a shotgun or he could’ve murdered someone while being the head of a violent crime syndicate. The man already had his day of judgment, let’s not play 12 angry men and pass judgment again. Besides, it’s futile to ask being that he almost certainly won’t divulge truthful details if it was that bad.

Amazing how without even knowing the man, you give him the benefit of the doubt.

If I ever decide to murder someone, I hope that you are on my jury

Well i do not mind admitting that for a short period of my life i was what i today would call a nasty character or a parasite, even if at the time i was also working and education myself.
Okay i was never convicted of anything, but that do not change things in my perspective.
What do matter is i am a changed man today and have been for decades, not by fate or a conviction but simply my brain started to work better.
I would like to think other people can also smart up aided in some way or not.

There will be absolutely no problem inviting me into your house and have your entire 401K i think its called, / savings spread out all over your living room.
It would make me very uneasy however if there was other people there, CUZ they might do something and it might reflect negative on me questioning my integrity.

You all do understand the post was about a felon not getting accepted into a gun club right. “Gun Club” why would any gun club accept someone into the organization if they can not own or use a Fire arm? I don’t understand the debate of what a firearm is classified as. It doesn’t matter if he goes there with a sling shot. If this “Gun Club” doesn’t want a felon to join then it’s just too bad.

Some sanity here…

Do you want people who have committed a violent felony permitted to carry a gun?? I sure don't. You do that and you forfeited your rights sorry....you belong in Prison.
You fail to realize the most important aspect of them all because you are conflating Felon and Criminal. Felons made a mistake, paid their debt to society, and are living as productive members of society. Criminals are actively partaking in crime. Criminals don't give a crap about laws, they are all armed regardless!

All Criminals are Felons. Not all Felons are Criminals.

Well to be a felon you were a criminal by the law..... a felon is convicted of a felony, which can be bad...A felon can be good and get his record expunged, get their voting rights restored,etc.....but has to wait awhile to do so...sometimes it only takes a few years..A felony is a serious charge.
This subject to old and so am I.....

My friend, what you just posted is ridiculous and it is obvious that you have no idea how the legal system works and definitions are established.

A Felon is one who "Made a mistake , paid their debt to society, and are living as productive members of society." That was your statement, correct?

So let's follow your "logic," A person murders someone, does his 25 years in prison, gets out, and keeps a job for 5 years with no other incidents....do YOU want that guy carrying a gun?? Or owning an AR15 which he keeps in his apartment?? I sure as hell don't

Before you posted, did you realize what you are saying?

And by the way, regarding the bold type at the end of your post:
All criminals are NOT necessarily felons. A so-called "criminal" can be guilty of misdemeanors, not felonies. And you are wrong again because all Felons ARE criminals

Gets you facts straigh my friend
