Can anyone recommend a safe and effective cleaner to remove corrosion from the aluminum threads and fitting in high pressure air tanks? Any tips and tricks so I don't ruin my expensive airguns would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Distilled water, lemon juice or white vinegar soak should do. After that maybe work it lightly with a scotch-brite pad.

There's a product called "Alumaslick". Comes in a spray can. It's for lubing the runners on aluminum doors & windows. I've used it for years & works great! Really good for protection from corrosion & for cleaning off corrosion.

honestly i wouldnt mess around with something thats corroded around high pressure .. if external threads are a bit rough id clean them with a brass brush and id lather on some white lithium grease is about it .. pitted etc hell no .. i wouldnt

Maybe try the lemon juice binager thing to soak then maybe take a something like a plastic sour cream container with some sand in it and shake roll them around to sand scrub the bolts/ screws clean and bright.
Then check out dielectric aluminum grease as a protective coating .
