Counting Projectiles Per Year

The first week of a new year is a good time to start keeping track of things. I shoot several different pellets across my springers and PCP's. I shoot some slugs as well. Decided to start keeping track by pellet / slug container consumed. Curious to see how much lead I am slinging down range. Anyone else keep track of projectiles shot per year?

Every day is a gift! Aim small miss small.

I could go count my empty tins for a while last year I was slinging about a tin every 3 days just plinkingthat number is null this year so far

Great idea. Will try to stay focused. I have 2 .30 caliber FX rifles. I just picked up the Huben in .25. When I first got into this sport I just wanted power. I now see why .22 and .17 are so necessary and just as fun.

No. It could lead to some kind of obsession or some other disorder so I just shoot. Same reason I don’t keep track of how much gasoline I use during a year. I’m happy and stress free, want to keep it that way. If I knew how much gas I used I would miserably be driving a hybrid.

Last year was well over 10k between slugs and pellets, about 50/50. This year started really slow because of the atmosphere river over norther CA.

Broke the 12k mark for 2022 on New Years Eve. Overwhelming majority were .177, JSB 10.34 in particular.

Apropos of nothing, kept count just to satisfy my curiosity.

Just empty tins to count, I also cast so no way to track them.

I tried to keep track last year but I lost track a few times. I,m trying to keep track this year. I was just always wondering how many I went through for the heck of it. I do know I went through alot more .177s than .22s.

Way too much effort to count and for what benefit. I just shoot a lot and have fun. Some days 20-30 and some days 100-200.

I have a spreadsheet that tracked EVERYTHING shooting related. It tracked all my costs as well as how many rounds in everything that hurled a projectile. We're talking rifles, pistols, shotguns, bows, slingshots, and airguns. I kept track of all of my relaoding components, the recipes I used, the dates and places where I shot as well as anything notable in terms of shooting accomplishments. The spreadsheet became a celebration of all things OCD.

My new year's resolution for 2022 was to retire that spreadsheet and simply focus on enjoying shooting. I still refer to that spreadsheet from time to time because it does contain a lot of valuable information. However, after about 14 years of tracking everything I'm glad I gave up the ghost.
