Slow mode does not show how fast the animal made its move, its never perfect shots sometimes but its pest removal. Animal expired 5 yards from kill zone. Vinny i have two more shot this week i can post if you like.
The coyote started moving as he was shooting. In the real world anyone of us can hit an animal in a less than desirable location. Adrenaline also kicks in.
I say kill them all even if you do it with a hammer. I get them and foxes over here killing my chickens all the time. I do whatever it takes to kill them and Hogs.
Charles I have one more coyote moving in my night cameras that I may remove next week. Waiting on my .30 Cal coming from repair. My .25 does drop them on side of head but this one unfortunately moved in that second trigger was pulled.
If you shoot/hunt long enough, that happens to all of us. Good follow up though to end it as soon as possible. They are killing way to many pets and live stock to not take them out when they venture into your territory. I personally use a 25 with slugs or 30 with slugs on the lease. They will decimate a fawn population.
Local deer hunters asked me to start removing them some time ago but I was working other fields out of this area. I think there are about six to seven in this 200 acre plot around me from camera count. Three down so far. You guys have a good time on your hunts.
Anybody that hunts much at all knows that things happen and animals move right as you're pulling the trigger. It wasn't the shot you wanted but it worked out fine, dropped pretty hard for a shot that far back. Did you spine him? I couldn't tell from the video if he was stone cold dead or still moving a little? What 2nd or follow up shot? I couldn't see that?
Yes spine shot and follow up to neck. I cut the movie for the soft hearts that critiqued my shooting. Had a fair amount asked me to post but not sure anymore.
I was wondering why the "soft hearted" got triggered since I only saw the censored (sic) version. Whoops I meant to say edited NOT.
There is a clear disclaimer on this forum about what you might see. I wish they would respect it and save the comments for maybe an Archery Hunting website where they can witness some real nasty kills or worse, the ones that get away.
Would love to have seen the full video and in real time. Not too bad in my opinion based in what I saw. Seemed liked you were on point, and he moved. Dropped quickly and I imagine follow up was good.
Go get em. I'm not a fan of coyotes at all. We had a kid goat killed and only its innards eaten. Pretty brutal. I only see coyotes rarely, and never when I have a gun in hand.
