Coyote in Socal

Hello, 

Havent been on the forums in a while. Was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for coyote hunting in socal. (Area) Used to shoot at a lot of farms but now looking for larger pesting

Used to live down there and as far as I know you are stuck with national forests and BLM land. They tend to like to patrol edge of civilization for tasty, fatty easy treats so find BLM or national forest bordering civilization? They are quick and mostly active at night but you can’t hunt at night nor bait them so chance of success aren’t great if you ask me.

Are you implying that in the state of California, all those pcp owners with night vision and moderators, aren't popping rats, armadillos, raccoons, foxes, coyotes, possum, and other wild/feral animals at night that go digging around in their urban and suburban garbage cans, gardens, and wives flower beds???

i wouldn’t say the state of California because it’s rather large and diverse, there isn’t a state law prohibiting pesting. However CA state hunting law prohibits night hunting and use of bait on public land for many good reasons. 


when it comes to shooting on one’s own property the law is drastically different based on city and county ordnance, due to number of people or density of population the associated morons is also very high and therefore a lot of cities prohibits ANY projectile even slingshots. Honestly I can’t blame them if you see some of the local residents......

fortunately for someone like me who live in more “rural” or less populated counties there isn’t much regulations as long as no one do something stupid to change it. Granted with population increase and out flow of urban people that will eventually change. However law is one thing and enforcement is another and on private properties as long as no one knows and get hurt there shouldn’t be an issue. Hence my 177 and moderator addiction!



edit: I challenge anyone to hear my 7fpe 177 shots with an emperor on!!! Hehehe
