Cricket owners....

Ernest Rowe does a great job with his regulator tune videos. I spent some time viewing with all reg parts polished I was shooting the gun thinking the chrony broke on 36 shots with a .25 I get the same reading for 15 - 18 shots with a spread of no more than 10 fps. the .22 tuned by Ernest is even better repeats with a max spread of 7 fps. I saw a vid I think it was Sniper qty? There was a clock dial scribed on top of the reg. I set the .22 at 53mm and 54mm for the .25 The power adjuster is a nice addition though both styles I have will back out

I would only buy one for my Cricket if the old one broke. The stock Cricket reg is very good. Not much to be gained by replacing it with an aftermarket one.

Even if the Huma is easier to adjust, a reg is not something you want to be regularly messing around with.

I get like that when I'm bored too. I start researching stuff and end up trying to fix something that was never broken.

Maybe go shooting or take the dog for a walk instead. Save yourself from starting a new thread in the future entitled "Cricket leaks after installing Huma reg" or "Installed Huma reg but saw no improvement in ES" etc..

Great explanation, zebra. I agree. There is no point in replacing the original regulator for a Huma one. The factory regulator on the Cricket is already excellent. When properly tuned--not modified--to the valve and hammer spring tension, it can easily rival the consistency of Olympic match rifles, especially when pellets have been weighed and sorted.
