Tuning Crosman 1377 and red dot help...

This is my second try at putting a red dot on my 1377. I have the steel breach installed. First I tried two different cheap reflex sights that were defective. Ordered a Bushnell TRS-25 and mounted it on a dovetail to picatinny adapter. Tried to sight it in today. It’s shooting 4” low. Good groups at 10 yrds but can’t get it to elevate aim point. Maxed out elevation with no change... Is shimming my only option?

i've had the same issue with red dots / airguns, and some 22's.

i would try a shorter mount. co-witness and lower 1/3 cowitness height red dots were too high on most of my pumper/springers

My guess would be that the dovetail to picatinny adapter is too tall. Try a lower profile one. The UTG ones that snap in are about as low as you can get. Model is MNT-DT2PW01. Should be about $10 for a pair. That is what I use on the red dot on my 1377.

I think it's simply an issue of being out of adjustment.... It shouldn't really happen, but it does. I recon what I might do is get an anti-droop mount, and cut it down to the shorter length needed for that red dot. I'm not sure how'd youd go about shimming the sight, but that would work too

HAWKE or Sun Optics 11mm to Picatinny adjustable mount or UTG with the built in droop buy Sun Optics us the surefire way you can adjust for any elevation correction. They were formerly B Square.

I have the snap in but can’t figure out how to get it to tighten properly. I might try the Meoptex one and hope it’s not too long.

It should tighten with the mount screw on the sight. Did you remove the recoil stop pin from the adapter? That got in the way on my airguns.
