Crosman 1701P carbine

When shooting under 700fps from the muzzle the speed doesn't seem to slow down as much compared to shooting higher power at speeds over 800fps.

The BC will seem better the slower the muzzle speed believe it or not.

I dropped birds at 25 yards shooting 360fps Daisy 747 and 400fps pistols like the Air Venturi V10 (Gamo Compact) and P17 easy DRT.

I whacked a lot of pest birds out to 55 - even 60+ yards with a 640fps FWB 300s shooting the old Crosman Copperhead pointed 7.9gr (not to be confused with the current 7.9gr Crosman Premier Super Points that really sux).

this makes sense! When you drive 65 mph the MPG is much better than doing 80mph. Resistance from air goes up exponentially as speed increases or resistance does NOT increase in a linear fashion when speed goes up. For pellets I think 800fps might be the top of sweet spot like driving 65mph.

here is a drag vs air speed graph measured in March. As you can see drag increases dramatically as it approaches March 1 or 1200 FPS.
