In a constant state of pushing lead down range
Took me over a week, but my custom 2240 project has almost come to an end. The only things I still need to do is replace the front sight with something decent (still looking for it), and I'll have the main tube and barrel cerakoted in a nice matt nickel finish. Replaced almost everything, internally and externally. The only few external parts that are original, are the barrel, main tube, front sight, and the end cap. Internally only the hammer and the valve, although these have been polished.



Love the looks of it. And it shoots quite well actually. I've shown you mine, now show me yours! :D

I've had many airguns over the years. Currently own a FX Independence, a Weihrauch HW30S and a Diana 340 N-Tec, next to my CZ 455 and Sig Sauer 1911. Perfect for training and loads of fun. These Crosman things, I've avoided like the plague in the past because I didn't like them at all. Then a friend of mine introduced me to the wonderful world of crosman pimpers and tuners. There's an actual community, amazing!... Haven't had this much fun in years with an airgun. It's like a virus, that in the end will drain your bank account if you don't watch out. 😂

I made the shrouds, risers & internals.
The 2240 carbine has a crosmods disco forearm, the 1377 either has a AR free float hand guard (or I switch it back to a 2289 forearm).



I cut down a mossberg 590 pump handle and tried that for awhile on a 2240 pistol.

As soon as I figure out how to post a picture, I will put one of my 2400KT Chimaera up. The 2400KT is a 2240 carbine with a longer main tube, just for reference. Replaced the valve with a high-flow model, added a MAD shoulder stinger with stock-mount CO2 bandolier, an improvised vertical foregrip/ bipod, 24" barrel with a 12" half-shroud (just for looks and barrel support), higher-powered hammer spring and power adjuster, and most importantly a BNM repeating breech. Turns it into a CO2-powered 10-shot SynthROD. Also added a range-finder scope and vented muzzle brake. Clocked it at just under 900 FOS with the PA turned all the way up. Thinking of a bulk-fill conversion, but then I will have to learn how to drill and tap additional valve pins to hold back the extra force.

Yes it has a 10.1" LW barrel under the 14" shroud. It is super quiet and accurate. 
I have never had POI change, I'm not scared to pick it up by the shroud....(sighted in for 20yds).
Trying to tune a good string with the hipac tho.

Nice-looking Crosmen (ha) guys!

I too was surprised at how much fun I had tuning my 1377. It's still ugly, because it wears the brown plastic factory grips. I may get a set of the newer, flat black ones, as I like their look a lot more. 

Mine has the flat top piston, new seals, a folding stock attached to the regular rear plug, and a 6X Bugbuster scope. Sadly, it's not that accurate until it's pumped up at least 5 times.

Jonnes, your 2240 looks a LOT like a Ruger Mk. II powderburner. Very handsome. 

pbguns, I love that carbine. That's a lot of work.

I guess you guys have found mellonair.com? I got most of my parts from him. Feel free to share some links to mod suppliers.
