I've got a Crosman 2240xl that has a co2 leak. I've been putting pellgun oil on the co2 and gently tightening the screw to seal the co2 capsule but still managed to get a leak. With a fresh co2 in the gun when I go to load a pellet I can hear co2 hissing in the breach. I've watched a few YouTube videos but I'm not finding step by step instructions to replace a bad seal which I think is the problem and I'm hoping some of you could point me in the right direction. I have the 2240xl and 2300s and a couple of 2240's that I've converted into rifles so I really need to learn how to work on this problem and could use your advice. I also have Crosman 1377's and 1322 and they are pretty easy to work on but the 2240's look like they have a lot of parts that need to be removed and reassembled and this looks complicated and that has me worried. I may just tear down the cheaper 2240 with the plastic breach for the learning experience or should I just tear down the 2240xl and go from there? I've ordered a seal kit on eBay and I'll get started once that arrives.
Sorry for the long post, I've been airgunning for a little over a year and have lots to learn.
