crosman 38T needs repair

Is there any place still resealing these? Mine leaks a lot and I would rather send it to an "expert" than buy a seal kit and try it myself.
I almost threw it in the junk barrel, but I thought I should give it one more chance.

Not to many left anymore, baker certainly seems worth the phone call. I generally do not but am able to repair my pcp rigs but sent my 38T off for a re-seal.
Some folks seen to have no problem with them but wasn't anything I wanted to mess with (and didn't know exactly how much it needed).

Certainly do not literally junk it. Even not working (unless beat to death) it has some value as parts are not getting easier to find.

It's not that hard to reseal. BB pelter did a write up about how to do it. The kits aren't cheap for what you get but it works.

Very simple job, just be slow when removing the seals. I have done 2 of them in the last month.

I soldered a copper tube and fitting to a used cartridge after I drilled a hole in the side of it so it can be used to test them without wasting a cartridge. Can be attached to a co2 tank or regulated HPA. Works on a few guns but originally for the Crosman 38's

I have worked on dozens of them. Here are some mods for them.

Five easy mods for your 38T or 38C






1. Drill the sleeve around the spring into swiss cheese like pattern. Creating more co2 volume

2. Open up the exhaust port. creates more flow.

3. Shim the magazine for a tighter fit to the valve
body

I had a similar issue with my Crosman 38T a while back. It started leaking CO2 and I was close to giving up on it. Instead of buying a seal kit, I found a guy named Mike at Mike's Airgun Repair. He specializes in vintage airguns and did an amazing job on mine. The turnaround was pretty quick, and it felt like new when I got it back.
