A remarkable weekend for the 7th running of the Crosman All-American Field Target Championship! Thanks to all the competitors for their support, Sean McDaniel's efforts as Match Director in delivering an incredible course and American Airgunner for covering the event. A full press release covering the event will be available tomorrow (July 11). In the meantime, here are some notable items:
- Over 80 registered shooters
- High scorer has always come from WFTF. Not this year. Manuel Gonzalez of Puerto Rico, using a homemade rifle modeled after the Crosman 160 of his youth, submitted a 111 in Open PCP and Dennis Himes, with a Marauder, lodged a 110. Greg Sauve was high WFTF with a 110.
- Puerto Rico brought their A-game: Manuel Gonzalez won Open, 4th in Pistol Open and 3rd in the All-Around. Manuel Morales was 2nd in the All-Around, 1st in WFTF Piston, and 1st in Pistol Open (using a borrowed 1720T). Pedro Abreu Mendez took 3rd in Pistol Open, 4th in Open and 6th in the All-Around. Together, Team Puerto Rico beat Team USA by 11 points to win the Team Competition.
- Team USA was 4th overall. Team SPC Air Rifle Tuning placed 2nd, led by the brothers Himes (Dennis won Hunter Division with a Marauder, beating Thomas by a point) and Hunter Piston winner Keith Walters.
- Joel Gupta won the All-Around with 142 combined pistol and rifle points.
