Sounds like you got it dialed in.

I shot two testers on paper and 2 at the steel target. So shots 5-9 are the top left. 10-14 left middle left, and 15-19 were bottom left. 50 yards light breeze bushnell 2-7x32 (japan). That took me from 3000-2200 psi.

For giggles I shot 10 more at 75 yards 4" gong. Shots 20-24 were hitting the target then at shot 25 the sound change and no longer hitting the target appeared to be dropping fast and I was under 2000 psi at this point. This is with cphp I'm waiting on a shipment of premier domed. And contemplating the larger pellets mentioned above. How do they feed through the mag?

Top left group looks great. When I did shoot mine outside (37 yards), I fired two groups with the Crosman hollow points and quickly switched to the domes. Seemed like the HPs were very erratic - at least for me. The H&Ns load very smoothly through magazine. I know what you mean about single loading, I actually use two fingers (one on each side of rifle) to load singly. Going to keep playing with tune and try and determine if I’ve lost any accuracy. Would like to get accurate shot count a little higher, seems like about 20-25 really good shots before they start dropping a little

Looks like maybe 25 accurate shots. After dinner *urp*, fired two more five shot groups starting at 2000 psi. #9 is hitting at same elevation as when I started at 2800 psi. (it’s a lousy group because I was watching chronograph instead of aiming right) #10 started at 1750 and ended at 1450 psi. I concentrated on target and you can definitely see vertical stringing.

are yours vertical stripping higher impact point as you approach higher shot count.. that's what mine is doing until it starts falling sharply "shots after 25". Of course the fall off at 50 yards will be greater.
Haven’t seen any print higher, only dropping when pressure reaches a certain point. Really need to get it outside, hard to tell a whole lot from short distance in basement - 11 yds.

Here’s the only time i shot it outside so far, at 37 yards, after rough zeroing in of scope. By group #3, pressure had dropped and you can tell elevation was falling. Breeze had picked up from left to right also. #2 was looking pretty until one went waaay out in left field. Also can’t explain the real low one in #1. These were Crosman domes, and sometimes they’ll do that. (could have been me also)

JSB Exact Jumbo express Diabolo 14.35gr, 50 yards, 0 to light wind, pumped to 2900-3000 psi, 26 total shots sitting at 1900 psi at the end.
2 shots to clean barrel-4 testers in the middle.

On order; H&N pellets to see how they do, dovetail to weaver base so I can get enough space to put on bushnell banner 4-12 larger scope with AO, and something to help my hearing in the long run ;) . I better go get my wife another Xmas present.

I shot poorly today - and at shorter range than you were shooting (37 yards) Conditions were good, very little breeze, I’m just a lousy shot. Shot five warmups/sighters before starting targets, so at end of #7 that was 30 total shots.
2950(ish) to start, 1800 psi at finish. Really screwed the pooch on #5, I’m used to getting 4 decent shots and one way out, that’s the way I roll 😁, but #5 was terrible.

Just wanted to share this real quick...

GTA member K.O. got a photo of the crown on his .22 cal Crosman Icon:
129 icon muzzle (K.O. on GTA).jpg

And that got me to thinking, what kind of cost:benefit analysis can possibly justify the factory using this atrocious crowning technique?

I clamped a barrel to my bench and imposed a 10 second limit on myself to crown it. Three (3) seconds with a carbide burr, followed by 7 seconds with a diamond ball.

10 second crown annot.jpg

One try. No practice. No retakes. I'm sure a capable manufacturing engineer could optimize it down to 5 seconds. So when we look at rifling wiped out at the muzzle, the only logical explanation for it is sheer apathy and indifference to quality control.

On plus side my waist band has shrunk from the pumpmaster 3000.

Just shot 30 new crosman premier they group ok my shooting wasn't great but I was in a hurry and didn't give the 30 minute rest after pumping what is now 70 pumps (think that pump is losing steam which is disappointing. Does anyone know how many fills from a standard aluminum scuba tank I think they fill it up to just 3000 lbs).

started at as close to 3000 psi and ended up at 1800 psi with pellets losing steam on last 5. Sounds like we are pretty close on # shots per fill. Looks like 25 shots is what you get and if you need 5 more as your walking out of woods aim a little higher.

lol Have you started compressor shopping yet? I was a little disappointed in my results today, expecting better - conditions were right. Then again, I don't really know what TO expect, accuracy-wise, from these rifles. I have a Crosman Challenger 2001 PCP that is so accurate at 10M, it's hard to even measure a group. Honestly. A pellet won't even fall through the hole made by a five shot group of it's own weight. But, can't really compare the two rifles because the Challenger is designed and built as a low power, indoor rifle. I have shot 1/2" (and just a few smaller) groups at 33 yards on a PERFECTLY calm day, but even the barest puff of wind throws the pellets way off. Wouldn't be suitable for a hunting rifle at all. (well, maybe a mouse)

Nice job!

I was getting only OK groups from my .177 ICON, so I recrowned the barrel today and they did tighten up a bit.

Still only able to shoot at 10m, once the contractors are gone I can shoots at 25m.
Going to start playing with my .177 today (inside where it's warm and cozy) I bought one of each when they were on sale, and have concentrated on the .22 so far. If you don't mind me asking, what sort of groups are you attaining so far? What pellets have you tried?
