Crosman parts made in China?

I never said it was a problem for me. I just think as a consumer, I’d like to know where my products come from and what companies and or counties I support, either directly or indirectly.

In regards to my toothbrush, it was indeed made in China. I know this because the packaging it came in was clearly marked with its country of origin.

They have been and pretty sure they still are,.....Benjamin tried to pull a fast one with the Marauder many years ago by slapping the "Made in America" label on, but they had to scratch that since it was a lie.

Well if the barrels are made “In-house,” they may as well be made in China.

Being in the parts business, sourcing in the US is extremely expensive.
If the parts on a Marauder were made in the states, that Mrod would $1,500 or more.

That is the catch. Unions in theory fight to get workers good pay, but it is at the expense of affordable whole goods.

I try to buy from USA where I can but also buy foreign goods if no comparable USA products or just so overpriced over the China alternative. I think most people here are this way that can afford to pay their bills. Tools are a good example for me but getting more difficult to find USA made ones. Switching more to used old vintage USA tools off Facebook. For sprinter airguns, I prefer German over anything else although I will make and an exception for Mike Melick Xisco tuned airguns. The B28 I bought from him was a quality airgun. However, it seems he has no guns to sell anymore.

Just because the box says made in usa dont mean the thing in it was ..

All a company had to do to put made in usa is handle 10% of the item.

As in unload a shipping container from china of binned stuff , sort them , and package them. .and that all needed to claim made in usa. Pretty much stuffing a china made thing in a box with made in usa on it and sell it to you at union made pricing wile kicking a brother out to the curb..

When a CEO is making $20 mil a year and the average employee can barely afford a 2 bedroom house it sure as hell ain't the union that's the problem. That CEO would happily pay his guys less and charge us more if given the opportunity.

Perhaps I can shed some light on this topic based on some stuff we went through at work a while back…

In 2021, the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) codified its “Made in USA” guidance into formal rules, which was a step done to make enforcement easier. By enforcement, what that really means is assess $$$$ penalties to companies misrepresenting products as American-made. Professional and legal guidance emerging from these changes seemed to settle in on recommending that only products having at least 98% of their total value being of US origin should make the claim. Predictably, the number of products with “Made in USA” or “Built in USA” or similar language shrank considerably in recent years.

I have been through the factory and a lot of parts are made in house but some are outsourced like just about everything else. I saw hundreds of American workers making pellets, bbs, co2 carts, assembling guns, shooting guns, making stocks, and other things. It did my heart good to see it. They make pretty good guns and the barrels seem to be better than they used to be. I shot a match with the guy who revamped the barrrel making process. Crosman brought him in from NASA. He is a real nice guy and had a beautiful young son that shot with us. I miss those FT shoots that Crosman put on before Covid. It was a first class shoot. We had a contingent of 8 or more people that traveled to NY every year to make the event. Good times for sure.

And I have absolutely nothing against China, on the contrary I think China has done the most for PCP shooters then any other country with the affordable and still good quality pumps, compressors, chronographs and so on.

I have a Chinese electric dirt bike that I love and I'm about to buy an other one, my Chinese wonder pistol is days away from arriving, so yes I have nothing againt China but it bothers me when companies lie, of circumvent the truth to put it more mildly.

If the Marauder was made in the USA would not cost 400 bucks, that tells you everything.
